DISABLE PROCEDURE AND TIME (Always Check Service Manual)

1. Turn the electric motor switch to the "LOCK" (OFF) position
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable and tape the terminal.
3. Wait at least 60 seconds after disconnecting the auxiliary battery cable before doing any further work.

PARTS THAT MUST BE REPLACED FOLLOWING A DEPLOYMENT

After the air bag deployment, replace the air bag module with a new one:

WHEN FRONT AIR BAGS DEPLOY IN A COLLISION:

After the air bag deployment, replace the air bag module with a new one:
• SRS-ECU [MODULE,AIRBAG CONTROL]
• Driver airbag module [AIRBAG,STEERING WHEEL]
• Passenger airbag module [AIRBAG,INSTRUMENT PNL]
• Seat belt with pre-tensioner [SEATBELT,FRONT]
• Front impact sensors [AIRBAG SENSOR,FRONT]
• Instrument panel assembly

WHEN SIDE AND CURTAIN AIR BAGS DEPLOY IN A COLLISION:

After the seat air bag deployment, replace the seat air bag module with a new one:
• Seat air bag module, if deployed [AIRBAG & SEAT BACK ASSY]
• SRS-ECU [MODULE,AIRBAG CONTROL]
• Front seatback frame and front seatback cover
• Side impact sensors [AIRBAG SENSOR,SIDE]
• Seat belt with pre-tensioner

After the Curtain air bag deployment, replace the Curtain air bag module with a new one:
• Curtain air bag module [AIRBAG,ROOF], if deployed
• SRS-ECU [MODULE,AIRBAG CONTROL]
• Headlining
• Front pillar trim, center pillar trim upper, quarter trim upper
• Side impact sensors [AIRBAG SENSOR,SIDE]
• Seat belt with pre-tensioner

PARTS THAT MUST BE INSPECTED AND REPLACED IF DAMAGED

• Perform SRS-ECU memory check
• Check the SRS components. If the SRS components are showing any visible damage such as dents, cracks, or deformation, replace them with new ones
• When removing and installing the front passenger seat, be sure to carry out accuracy check occupant classification sensor after the seat has been installed in the vehicle

WHEN FRONT AIR BAGS DEPLOY IN A COLLISION:

• Clock spring
• Steering wheel, steering column shaft assembly

WHEN SIDE AND CURTAIN AIR BAGS DEPLOY IN A COLLISION:

• Wiring harnesses, connectors and terminals
• Seats and seat mounting points
• Seat belts and seat belt mounting points
