DISABLE PROCEDURE AND TIME (Always Check Service Manual)
WARNING:To avoid rendering the SRS inoperative, which could increase the risk of personal injury or death in the event of a collision which would result in air bag inflation, all maintenance should be performed by an authorized NISSAN/INFINITI dealer.
1. Turn the ignition switch OFF
2. Disconnect both battery cables.
3. Wait at least 3 minutes or more.

PARTS THAT MUST BE REPLACED FOLLOWING A DEPLOYMENT
FOR FRONTAL COLLISION : When SRS is activated in a collision:• If the driver air bag has deployed: REPLACE Install with new fasteners. [AIRBAG,STEERING WHEEL]
• If the front passenger air bag has deployed: REPLACE Install with new fasteners. [AIRBAG, INSTRUMENT PNL]
• If any of the front air bags or seat belt pre-tensioners• have been activated: REPLACE the crash zone sensor and bracket with new fasteners [AIRBAG SENSOR,FRONT]
• Driver seat belt pre-tensioner assemblies, if deployed
• Passenger seat belt pre-tensioner assemblies, if deployed
• If any of the SRS components have been activated: REPLACE the diagnosis sensor unit. Install with new fasteners.[MODULE,AIRBAG CONTROL]
• If the driver front air bag has deployed: REPLACE the spiral cable [CLOCK SPRING]
• Always replace the instrument panel pad following front passenger air bag deployment
• If the front passenger air bag has deployed: REPLACE the instrument panel assembly. (integrated type)
• NISSAN/INFINITI recommends that all seat belt assemblies in use during a collision be replaced unless the collision was minor and the belts show no damage and continue to operate properly
FOR SIDE AND ROLLOVER COLLISION : When SRS is activated in a collision:
• If the side curtain air bag LH has deployed: REPLACE the side curtain air bag module LH. Install with new fasteners [AIRBAG,ROOF]
• If the side curtain air bag RH has deployed: REPLACE the side curtain air bag module RH. Install with new fasteners [AIRBAG,ROOF]
• If the front side air bag LH has deployed: REPLACE front seatback assembly LH [AIRBAG,FRONT SEAT]
• If the front side air bag RH has deployed: REPLACE front seatback assembly RH [AIRBAG,FRONT SEAT]
• If any of the SRS components have deployed: REPLACE the side air bag (satellite) sensor on the collision side with new fasteners [AIRBAG SENSOR,SIDE; AIRBAG SENSOR,RR DOOR (if equipped)]
• Driver seat belt pre-tensioner assemblies, if deployed
• Passenger seat belt pre-tensioner assemblies, if deployed
• If any of the SRS components have been activated: REPLACE the diagnosis sensor unit. Install with new fasteners. [MODULE,AIRBAG CONTROL]
• NISSAN/INFINITI recommends that all seat belt assemblies in use during a collision be replaced unless the collision was minor and the belts show no damage and continue to operate properly
Replace any seat belt assembly (including anchor bolts) if:
• The front seat belt pre-tensioner should be replaced even if the seat belts are not in use during the collision in which the air bags are deployed.
PARTS THAT MUST BE INSPECTED AND REPLACED IF DAMAGED
For front air bag deployment:• Non-deployed airbags
• Steering wheel assembly
• Harness and connectors
• Seat assemblies and mounting points
• Occupant classification system
• All seat belt assemblies including retractors and attached hardware after any collision
• After the front passenger air bag inflates, the instrument panel assembly should be replaced if damaged
• Seat belt attaching points
• Replace any seat belt assembly if attaching point or anchor bolts were damaged
• Inspect the Supplimental Restraint System component attaching areas for damage or distortion and repair as necessary before installing new components
For a side air bag and side curtain air bag deployment:
• Non-deployed airbags
• Trim/headlining
• Harness and connectors
• Inspect the Supplimental restraint System component attaching areas for damage or distortion and repair as necessary before installing new components
• Seat assemblies and mounting points
• Seat belt attaching points. Replace any seat belt assembly if attaching point or anchor bolts were damaged.
• All seat belt assemblies including retractors and attaching hardware
Replace any seat belt assembly (including anchor bolts) if:
• The seat belt was in use at the time of a collision (except for minor collisions and the belts, retractors and buckles show no damage and continue to operate properly).
• The seat belt was damaged in an accident (i.e. torn webbing, bent retractor or guide).
• The seat belt attaching point was damaged in an accident. Inspect the seat belt attaching area for damage or distortion and repair as necessary before installing a new seat belt assembly.
• Anchor bolts are deformed or worn out.
• The front seat belt pre-tensioner should be replaced even if the seat belts are not in use during the collision in which the air bags are deployed.
