DISABLE PROCEDURE AND TIME (Always Check Service Manual)
WARNING:To avoid rendering the SRS inoperative, which could increase the risk of personal injury or death in the event of a collision which would result in air bag inflation, all maintenance should be performed by an authorized NISSAN/INFINITI dealer.
1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
2. Disconnect both battery cables.
3. Wait at least 3 minutes.
PARTS THAT MUST BE REPLACED FOLLOWING A DEPLOYMENT
For front airbag deployment:• Airbag module (driver and front passenger) ( install with new fasteners)
• Crash zone sensor and bracket. (install with new fasteners)
• Seat belt pre-tensioner assemblies following frontal collision (all applicable locations: buckle, reel, lap outer) (install with new fasteners)
• Diagnosis sensor unit (install with new fasteners)
• Spiral cable and combination switch
• Instrument panel assembly
• Any damaged restraint system part
For side airbag and side curtain airbag deployment:
• Front seat back assembly (on the side on which front side air bag is activated)
• (LH or RH) Side curtain air bag module (on the side on which side curtain air bag is activated; repair the center pillar inner, etc. before installing new one if damaged)
• Front side airbag module (on the side on which the airbag module is activated)
• Diagnosis sensor unit (install with new fasteners)
• (LH or RH) side air bag (satellite) sensor (on the side on which side airbag is activated)
• Seat belt pre-tensioner assemblies (all applicable locations: buckle, reel, lap outer) (install with new fasteners)
• Any damaged restraint system part
PARTS THAT MUST BE INSPECTED AND REPLACED IF DAMAGED
• Steering wheel• Wiring harness (built into steering wheel), connectors and terminals
• Passenger seat cushion assembly with Occupant Detection System control unit
• Wiring harness, connectors and terminals
• All seat belt assemblies including retractors and attaching hardware
• Any restraint system part or wiring identified by diagnostic check
For a side airbag deployment:
• Seat belt pre-tensioner assemblies (buckle, reel, lap outer) (Replace if the center pillar inner has no damage)
• Center inner pillar
• Trim/headlining
• All seat belt assemblies including retractors and attaching hardware
• Any restraint system part or wiring identified by diagnostic check
