DISABLE PROCEDURE AND TIME (Always Check Service Manual)

WARNING:
To avoid rendering the SRS inoperative, which could increase the risk of personal injury or death in the event of a collision which would result in air bag inflation, all maintenance should be performed by an authorized NISSAN dealer.

1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
2. Disconnect both battery cables.
3. Wait at least 3 minutes.

PARTS THAT MUST BE REPLACED FOLLOWING A DEPLOYMENT

For front air bag deployment:

• Air bag module (driver) (install with new fasteners)
• Air bag module (passenger) (install with new fasteners)
• Crash zone sensor (install with new fasteners) [Front Airbag Sensor]
• Crash zone sensor bracket (install with new fasteners) [Front Airbag Snsr Brkt]
• Seat belt pre-tensioner assemblies following frontal collision (buckle, reel, lap outer) (install with new fasteners)
• Diagnosis sensor unit (install with new fasteners)
• Spiral cable and combination switch [Lever Assy, Strg Column (incl Clock Spring)]
• Instrument panel (if Passenger airbag deploys)
• Any damaged restraint system part

For side air bag and side curtain air bag deployment:

• All parts of seatback assembly (including seatback frame) with side airbag module (on the side on which side air bag is activated)
• Side curtain airbag module (on the side on which side curtain airbag is activated) (Repair the center pillar inner, etc., before installing new one, if damaged)
• Satellite sensor on collision side (install with new fasteners) (Repair the center pillar inner, etc., before installing new one, if damaged) [Side Airbag Sensor]
• Diagnosis sensor unit (install with new fasteners)
• Any damaged restraint system part

PARTS THAT MUST BE INSPECTED AND REPLACED IF DAMAGED

For front air bag deployment:

• Steering wheel
• Passenger seat cushion with Occupant classification system (install with new fasteners)
• Wiring harness (built into steering wheel), connectors and terminals
• Wiring harnesses, connectors and terminals
• All seat belt assemblies including retractors and attaching hardware
• Any restraint system part or wiring identified by diagnostic check

For side air bag and side curtain air bag deployment:

• Seat belt pre-tensioner assembly (buckle, reel, lap outer) (replace if center pillar inner has no damage) (install with new fasteners)
• All seat belt assemblies including retractors and attaching hardware
• Trim/headlining
• Center inner pillar (only repair if damaged by dents, cracks, deformation)
• Any restraint system part or wiring identified by diagnostic check
