DISABLE PROCEDURE AND TIME (Always Check Service Manual)

1. Disconnect and isolate battery ground cable.
2. Wait at least 1 minute.

PARTS THAT MUST BE REPLACED FOLLOWING A DEPLOYMENT

• Deployed airbag modules [Airbag, Instrument Pnl and/or Airbag, Steering Wheel and/or Airbag, Front Seat]
• All airbag sensors [Airbag Sensor, Front and/or Airbag Sensor, Occupancy Classification and/or Airbag Sensor, Interior]
• All restraint sensors (no matter what devices have deployed)
• Restraint control module [Module, Airbag Control]
• Clockspring
• Electronic crash severity sensor
• Seat belt pretensioner/buckle switch assembly
• All seat belt assemblies (retractor and buckle assemblies) that were in use
• Any damaged or defective restraint system part

For a Side Airbag Deployment:
• Deployed airbag modules [Airbag, Front Seat]
• All airbag sensors [Airbag Sensor, Front and/or Airbag Sensor, Active Weight and/or Airbag Sensor, Interior]
• All restraint sensors (no matter what devices have deployed)
• Restraint control module [Module, Airbag Control]
• Seat back trim cover
• Seat back foam
• All seat belt assemblies (retractor and buckle assemblies) that were in use
• Any damaged or defective restraint system part

PARTS THAT MUST BE INSPECTED AND REPLACED IF DAMAGED

• Steering wheel and column
(front impact sensor)
• Driver's seat track position sensor
• All airbag sensor brackets and surrounding sheet metal
• Restraint control module bracket [Brkt, Airbag Control Module] and surrounding sheet metal
• Electronic crash severity sensor mounting bracket
• Instrument panel knee bolsters [Bolster, Knee] and mounting points
• Instrument panel braces and brackets
• Instrument panel and mounting points
• All wire harnesses which contain restraint circuits
• All seat belt assemblies which were not in use. Each assembly must be certified by a qualified service technician as fully functional.
• Seat frame
• Seat cushion
• Seat track assembly
• Seat mounting points
• Floor pan around seat assembly
• Any restraint system part or wiring identified by the restraint diagnostic checks

For a Side Airbag Deployment:
• All airbag sensor brackets and surrounding sheet metal
• Restraint control module bracket [Brkt, Airbag Control Module] and surrounding sheet metal
• All wire harnesses which contain restraint circuits
• All seat belt assemblies which were not in use. Each assembly must be certified by a qualified service technician as fully functional.
• Seat frame
• Seat cushion
• Seat track assembly
• Seat mounting points
• Floor pan around seat assembly
• Any restraint system part or wiring identified by the restraint diagnostic checks
