DISABLE PROCEDURE AND TIME (Always Check Service Manual)

Before using an electric welder on the vehicle, remove any SRS parts around the area being repaired.

1. Turn ignition switch to LOCK and remove key.
2. Disconnect and isolate negative battery cable.
3. Wait 90 seconds.

PARTS THAT MUST BE REPLACED FOLLOWING A DEPLOYMENT

When the SRS parts are deployed (including when only an airbag or pretensioner is deployed) due to a collision, be sure to replace all sensors in the damaged areas (anywhere in need of repair) and center airbag sensor assembly. [AIRBAG SENSOR,FRONT; AIRBAG SENSOR,FRT DOOR; AIRBAG SENSOR,QTR PANEL; MODULE,AIRBAG CONTROL]

• Steering wheel pad [AIRBAG, STEERING WHEEL]
• Driver side knee airbag assembly [AIRBAG,KNEE BOLSTER]
• Front passenger side knee airbag assembly, [AIRBAG,KNEE BOLSTER]
• Front passenger airbag assembly [AIRBAG,INSTRUMENT PNL]
• Front seat side airbag assembly, [AIRBAG,FRONT SEAT; For TMC made]
• Front seat side airbag assembly, [AIRBAG & SEAT ASSY,FRT; For TMMC made]
• Rear seat airbag assembly [AIRBAG,REAR SEAT; For TMC made]
• Rear seat airbag assembly [AIRBAG & SEAT ASSY,RR; For TMMC made]
• Curtain shield airbag assembly [AIRBAG,ROOF]

• If the front seat side airbag assembly was deployed, replace the front seat side airbag assembly, front seat frame assembly with adjuster, separate type front seatback cover and separate type front seatback pad with the necessary parts in accordance with the extent of the collision damage

• For TMC made: If the rear seat side airbag assembly was deployed, replace the rear seat side airbag assembly, rear seatback frame sub-assembly, separate type rear seatback cover and separate type rear seatback pad with the necessary parts in accordance with the extent of the collision damage

PARTS THAT MUST BE INSPECTED AND REPLACED IF DAMAGED

Perform a diagnostic system check

Even in the case of a minor collision when the SRS does not deploy inspect the following. If a defect is found (e.g. cracks, dents or any other defects) in any of the housings, brackets or connectors, then replace the part with a new one:

• Spiral cable [CLOCK SPRING]
• Steering Pad [AIRBAG, STEERING WHEEL]
• Front Passenger Airbag Assembly [AIRBAG,INSTRUMENT PNL]
• Driver Side Knee Airbag Assembly
• Passenger Side Knee Airbag Assembly
• Front Seat Airbag Assembly
• Rear Seat Airbag Assembly
• Curtain Shield Airbag Assembly
• Center Airbag Sensor Assembly [MODULE,AIRBAG CONTROL]
• Front Airbag Sensor [AIRBAG SENSOR,FRONT]
• Front Seat Inner Belt Assembly
• Seat Position Sensor
• Occupant Classification ECU
• Occupant Classification system: Perform zero point calibration and sensitivity check
• Side Airbag Sensor [AIRBAG SENSOR,FRT DOOR]
• Rear Airbag Sensor [AIRBAG SENSOR,QTR PANEL]
• Front Seat Outer Belt Assembly

Replace any faulty parts of the seat belt systems (outer belt, inner belt, bolts, nuts, adjustable shoulder anchor, tether anchor hardware and other related parts). When inspecting a vehicle that was in a collision, be sure to check all of the seat belt systems regardless of whether or not the system was activated in the collision. Replace any damaged or malfunctioning systems
