DISABLE PROCEDURE AND TIME (Always Check Service Manual)

1. Turn ignition switch to OFF and remove key.
2. Disconnect and isolate negative battery cable.
3. Wait at least 90 seconds.

When the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal, the memory settings of each system will be cleared. Because of this, be sure to write down the settings of each system before starting work. When work is finished, reset the settings of each system as before. Never use a backup power supply from outside the vehicle to avoid erasing the memory in a system

PARTS THAT MUST BE REPLACED FOLLOWING A DEPLOYMENT

Deployed Airbag(s):
• Steering pad, [AIRBAG,STEERING WHEEL]
• Driver side knee airbag assembly [AIRBAG,KNEE BOLSTER]
• Front passenger airbag assembly, [AIRBAG,INSTRUMENT PNL]
• Front passenger airbag assembly, [AIRBAG,KNEE BOLSTER]
• Front seat airbag assembly, [AIRBAG & SEAT ASSY,FRT]
• Curtain shield airbag assembly, [AIRBAG,ROOF]
• In the airbag system, the center airbag sensor, front airbag sensor LH and RH, side airbag sensor LH
and RH, rear airbag sensor LH and RH are collectively referred to as the airbag sensors -
• When any of the airbags have deployed, replace the airbag sensors and check the installation condition [MODULE,AIRBAG CONTROL; AIRBAG SENSOR,FRONT; AIRBAG SENSOR,FRT DOOR; AIRBAG SENSOR,QTR PANEL]
• Any damaged restraint system part


PARTS THAT MUST BE INSPECTED AND REPLACED IF DAMAGED

Perform a diagnostic system check

• Steering pad [AIRBAG,STEERING WHEEL]
• Front passenger airbag [AIRBAG,INSTRUMENT PNL]
• Curtain shield airbag [AIRBAG,ROOF]
• Front seat side airbag [AIRBAG & SEAT ASSY,FRT]
• Seat belt pretensioner
• Center airbag sensor [MODULE,AIRBAG CONTROL]
• Front airbag sensor [AIRBAG SENSOR,FRONT]
• Side airbag sensor [AIRBAG SENSOR,FRT DOOR]
• Rear airbag sensor [AIRBAG SENSOR,QTR PANEL]
• Occupant classification ECU
• Seat position airbag sensor

Additionally inspect the:
• Steering wheel
• Instrument panel/ Instrument panel reinforcement
• Front pillar garnish and Headliner
• SRS wire harness/ connectors
• Any restraint system part or wiring identified by diagnostic check
