DISABLE PROCEDURE AND TIME (Always Check Service Manual)

When troubleshooting the SRS, always inspect DTCs before disconnecting the battery.

1. Turn ignition switch to OFF
2. Disconnect negative battery cable.
3. Wait at least 90 seconds.

PARTS THAT MUST BE REPLACED FOLLOWING A DEPLOYMENT

In the airbag system, the center airbag sensor assembly, front airbag sensor LH and RH, side airbag sensor assembly LH and RH, rear airbag sensor LH and RH are collectively referred to as the airbag sensors.

When any of the airbags have deployed, replace the airbag sensors and check the installation condition.

With a front airbag deployment:
• Steering wheel mounted Airbag, [AIRBAG,STEERING WHEEL], if deployed
• Front passenger airbag assembly, if deployed
• Center airbag sensor assembly, [MODULE,AIRBAG CONTROL]
• Center airbag sensor assembly, front airbag sensor LH and RH, side airbag sensor assembly LH and RH, rear airbag sensor LH and RH [MODULE,AIRBAG CONTROL; AIRBAG SENSOR,FENDER; AIRBAG SENSOR,INTERIOR (door); AIRBAG SENSOR,INTERIOR(rear)]
• Any damaged restraint system part

With a side airbag deployment:
• Front seat airbag assembly, [AIRBAG & SEAT ASSY,FRT], if deployed
• Center airbag sensor assembly, front airbag sensor LH and RH, side airbag sensor assembly LH and RH, rear airbag sensor LH and RH [MODULE,AIRBAG CONTROL; AIRBAG SENSOR,FENDER; AIRBAG SENSOR,INTERIOR (door); AIRBAG SENSOR,INTERIOR(rear)]
• Any damaged restraint system part

With a side curtain airbag deployment:
• Curtain shield airbag assembly, if deployed
• Center airbag sensor assembly, [MODULE,AIRBAG CONTROL]
• Center airbag sensor assembly, front airbag sensor LH and RH, side airbag sensor assembly LH and RH, rear airbag sensor LH and RH [MODULE,AIRBAG CONTROL; AIRBAG SENSOR,FENDER; AIRBAG SENSOR,INTERIOR (door); AIRBAG SENSOR,INTERIOR(rear)]
• Any damaged restraint system part

PARTS THAT MUST BE INSPECTED AND REPLACED IF DAMAGED

• Perform the initialization of the occupant classification ECU, zero point calibration and sensitivity check

If any of these parts have been dropped, or a defect is found (e.g. cracks, dents or any other defects) in any of the housings, brackets or connectors, then replace the part with a new one:
• Steering Pad
• Front Passenger Airbag Assembly
• Front Seat Airbag Assembly
• Curtain Shield Airbag Assembly
• Center Airbag Sensor Assembly
• Front Airbag Sensor
• Front Seat Outer Belt Assembly
• Front Seat Inner Belt Assembly
• Seat Position Airbag Sensor
• Side Airbag Sensor Assembly
• Rear Airbag Sensor
• Spiral cable

Additionally inspect the:
• Steering wheel
• Instrument panel and Instrument panel reinforcement
• Front pillar garnish and Headliner

Occupant Classification precaution:
• Occupant classification ECU
• Perform zero point calibration and sensitivity check
• Check the flatness of the body side that is equipped with the passenger seat

• Replace the faulty parts of the seat belt systems (outer belt, inner belt, bolts, nuts, adjustable shoulder anchor, tether anchor hardware, sill-bar, etc.)
• Seat belt systems not in use at the time of a collision should also be inspected and replaced if found to be damaged or working improperly
• Any restraint system part or wiring identified by diagnostic check
