DISABLE PROCEDURE AND TIME (Always Check Service Manual)
Before doing any SRS repairs, use the HDS SRS menu method to check for DTCs.Make sure you have the anti-theft code(s) for the audio and/or the navigation system (if equipped)
Before removing any of the SRS parts (including the disconnection of the connectors), always disconnect the associated SRS connector. Review the SRS component locations and the precautions and procedures before doing repairs or service.
1. Make sure the ignition switch is in LOCK (0)
2. Ground the SCS line with the HDS to take the PCM out of active status
3. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery
4. Wait at least 3 minutes before beginning work

PARTS THAT MUST BE REPLACED FOLLOWING A DEPLOYMENT
After a seat belt tensioner deployment:• SRS unit [MODULE,AIRBAG CONTROL]
• Seat belt tensioners
• Seat belt buckle tensioners
• Front impact sensors [AIRBAG SENSOR,FENDER]
• Any damaged restraint system part
After a collision where the front airbag(s) deployed, replace these items:
• SRS unit [MODULE,AIRBAG CONTROL]
• Steering Wheel Mounted Airbag, If Deployed [AIRBAG,STEERING WHEEL]
• Instrument Panel Airbag, If Deployed [AIRBAG,INSTRUMENT PNL]
• Seat belt tensioners
• Seat belt buckle tensioners
• Front impact sensors [AIRBAG SENSOR,FENDER]
• Dashboard upper panel, if Instrument Panel Airbag Deployed
• Any damaged restraint system part
After a collision where the side airbag(s) deployed, replace these items:
• SRS unit [MODULE,AIRBAG CONTROL]
• Deployed driver's side seat airbag [Airbag, Front Seat], if deployed
• Deployed passenger's side seat airbag [AIRBAG,FRONT SEAT], if deployed
• Side impact sensor(s) First (B Pillar), Second (Quarter), for the side that deployed [AIRBAG SENSOR, SIDE; AIRBAG SENSOR,QTR PANEL]
• Seat belt tensioner(s)
• B-pillar lower trim
• Complete seat frame
• Side airbag bracket
• Any damaged restraint system part
After a collision where a side curtain airbag has deployed, replace the items for the side(s) that deployed:
• SRS unit [MODULE,AIRBAG CONTROL]
• Left side curtain airbag [AIRBAG, ROOF], if deployed
• Right side curtain airbag [AIRBAG, ROOF], if deployed
• Seat belt tensioner(s)
• Side impact sensor(s) First (B Pillar), Second (Quarter), for the side that deployed [AIRBAG SENSOR, SIDE; AIRBAG SENSOR,QTR PANEL]
• Roll rate sensor [AIRBAG SENSOR,INTERIOR]
• Roof trim
• Headliner
• A-pillar trim and related trim clips
• B-pillar lower trim and related trim clips
• C-pillar trim and related trim clips
• Front grab handle
• Rear grab handle
• Any related trim clips
• Sunvisor
• Any damaged restraint system part
PARTS THAT MUST BE INSPECTED AND REPLACED IF DAMAGED
• After a moderate to severe side or rear collision, inspect for any damage on the side curtain airbag or other related components. Replace the components as needed• Check the front passenger's weight sensors after a vehicle collision.
• After a vehicle collision, do the ODS unit operation check
• Do not replace the ODS unit unless it is physically damaged or a specific DTC was found during troubleshooting
• Inspect all the SRS wire harnesses. Replace, do not repair, any damaged harnesses.
•Inspect the cable reel for heat damage. If there is any damage, replace the cable reel.
• Active head restraint
• Rear seat belt assemblies
• Seats and seat
• Front passenger's weight sensors
• Any restraint system part or wiring identified by diagnostic check
