DISABLE PROCEDURE AND TIME (Always Check Service Manual)

Before using an electric welder on the vehicle, remove any SRS parts around the area being repaired.

1. Turn ignition switch is turned to the "LOCK" position
2. Disconnect and isolate negative battery cable.
3. Wait at least 90 seconds.

PARTS THAT MUST BE REPLACED FOLLOWING A DEPLOYMENT

Deployed airbags:
• Steering wheel pad [AIRBAG, STEERING WHEEL]
• Front passenger airbag assembly [AIRBAG,INSTRUMENT PNL]
• Driver side knee airbag assembly, [AIRBAG,KNEE BOLSTER]
• Front passenger side knee airbag assembly, [AIRBAG,KNEE BOLSTER]
• The center airbag sensor assembly should be replaced after any of the airbags has deployed, [MODULE,AIRBAG CONTROL]
• The front airbag sensor on the impacted side should be replaced after the steering pad, front passenger airbag assembly or driver side knee airbag assembly has deployed [AIRBAG SENSOR,FRONT]

Deployed airbags:
• Front seat airbag assembly, [AIRBAG & SEAT ASSY,FRT]
• The center airbag sensor assembly should be replaced after any of the airbags has deployed [MODULE,AIRBAG CONTROL]
• The side airbag sensor on the impacted side should be replaced after the front seat airbag assembly and curtain shield airbag assembly have deployed [AIRBAG SENSOR,SIDE]

Deployed airbags:
• Curtain shield airbag assembly, [AIRBAG,ROOF]
• The center airbag sensor assembly should be replaced after any of the airbags has deployed, [MODULE,AIRBAG CONTROL]
• The side airbag sensor on the impacted side should be replaced after the front seat airbag assembly and curtain shield airbag assembly have deployed, [AIRBAG SENSOR,SIDE]
• The rear airbag sensor on the impacted side should be replaced after the curtain shield airbag assembly has deployed [AIRBAG SENSOR,QTR PANEL]

• Any damaged restraint system part

PARTS THAT MUST BE INSPECTED AND REPLACED IF DAMAGED

Even in the case of a minor collision when the SRS does not deploy inspect the following. If a defect is found (e.g. cracks, dents or any other defects) in any of the housings, brackets or connectors, then replace the part with a new one:
• Spiral cable [CLOCK SPRING]
• Steering Pad [AIRBAG, STEERING WHEEL]
• Front Passenger Airbag Assembly [AIRBAG,INSTRUMENT PNL]
• Driver Side Knee Airbag Assembly [AIRBAG,KNEE BOLSTER]
• Front Seat Airbag Assembly
• Curtain Shield Airbag Assembly
• Center Airbag Sensor Assembly
• Front Airbag Sensor
• Front Seat Inner Belt Assembly
• Seat Position Sensor
• Occupant Classification ECU
• Occupant Classification system
• Side Airbag Sensor
• Rear Airbag Sensor
• Front Seat Outer Belt Assembly
• Any restraint system part or wiring identified by diagnostic check
