DISABLE PROCEDURE AND TIME (Always Check Service Manual)
1. Turn ignition switch OFF and remove key.2. Disconnect and isolate negative battery cable.
3. Wait 90 seconds.
PARTS THAT MUST BE REPLACED FOLLOWING A DEPLOYMENT
With a front airbag deployment:• Steering wheel pad/horn button assembly (with airbag) [Airbag, Steering Wheel]
• Instrument panel passenger airbag assembly [Airbag, Instrument Pnl]
• Instrument panel lower airbags (2004 LS 430 only) [Airbag, Knee Bolster]
• Front airbag sensor (both left and right) [Airbag Sensor, Fender]
• Airbag sensor assembly (center) [Module, Airbag Control]
• Seat belt pretensioners (included in front seat belts)
• Any damaged restraint system part
[Airbag Sensor, Interior]
With a side airbag deployment:
• Front seat airbag assembly [Airbag & Seat Back Assy]
• Front seatback assembly
• Side and curtain airbag sensor assembly [Module, Airbag Control]
• Airbag sensor assembly (center) [Module, Airbag Control]
• Occupant classification ECU, occupant classification sensor, seat cushion cover pad, seat cushion cover, and seat cushion heater, should be replaced as a 5 part set
• Seat position sensor assembly
• All seat belt pretensioners
• Any damaged restraint system part
With a side curtain airbag deployment:
• Curtain shield airbag assembly [Airbag, Roof]
• Side and curtain airbag sensor assembly [Module, Airbag Control]
• Curtain airbag rear sensor assembly [Airbag Sensor, Qtr Pnl]
• Airbag sensor assembly (center) [Module, Airbag Control]
• All seat belt pretensioners
• Any damaged restraint system part
PARTS THAT MUST BE INSPECTED AND REPLACED IF DAMAGED
With a front airbag deployment:• Spiral cable [Clockspring]
• Steering wheel
• Instrument panel
• Instrument panel reinforcement
• SRS wire harnesses [Airbag Harness, Interior] or connectors
• Any restraint system part or wiring identified by diagnostic check
With a side airbag deployment:
• Seatback installation part of the adjuster
• SRS wire harnesses [Airbag Harness, Interior] or connectors
• Any restraint system part or wiring identified by diagnostic check
With a side curtain airbag deployment:
• Inner trim pieces around curtain shield airbag assembly
• Body to which curtain airbag attaches
• SRS wire harnesses [Airbag Harness, Interior] or connectors
• Any restraint system part or wiring identified by diagnostic check
