DISABLE PROCEDURE AND TIME (Always Check Service Manual)
Before disconnecting the SRS unit connectors, always disconnect the appropriate SRS parts connectors1. Always turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode
2. Disconnect the negative cable from the 12 volt battery
3. Wait at least 3 minutes before starting installation or replacement of the SRS unit or disconnecting the connectors from the SRS unit.

PARTS THAT MUST BE REPLACED FOLLOWING A DEPLOYMENT
After a collision where the front seat belt tensioners deployed, replace these items:• SRS unit [MODULE,AIRBAG CONTROL]
• Front seat belt(s)
• Front impact sensor(s) [AIRBAG SENSOR,FRT BMPR]
After a collision where the seat belt outer lap tensioner deployed, replace these items:
• SRS unit
• Front seat belt(s)
• Seat belt outer lap tensioner(s)
• Front impact sensor(s)
• Rear left and right seat belts
After a collision where the front airbag(s) deployed, replace these items:
• SRS unit [MODULE,AIRBAG CONTROL]
• Deployed front airbag(s) [AIRBAG,STEERING WHEEL; AIRBAG,INSTRUMENT PNL]
• Front seat belt(s)
• Front impact sensor(s) [AIRBAG SENSOR,FRT BMPR]
• Cable reel (deployed driver's airbag) [CLOCK SPRING]
• Dashboard (deployed front passenger's airbag)
• Rear left and right seat belts
• Spring (deployed driver's airbag)
After a collision where the knee airbag(s) deployed, replace these items:
• SRS unit
• Deployed knee airbag(s)
• Front seat belt(s)
• Front impact sensor(s)
• Driver's dashboard lower cover (deployed driver's knee airbag)
• Glove box (deployed front passenger's knee airbag)
• Passenger's dashboard undercover (deployed front passenger's knee airbag)
• Rear left and right seat belts
After a collision where the front side airbag deployed, replace the items for the side(s) that deployed:
• SRS unit
• Deployed side airbag(s)
• Front seat belt(s)
• Rear left and right seat belt(s)
In the event of front crash, replace the following sensors.
• Front impact sensor(s)
In the event of side crash, replace the following sensors of crash side.
• Side impact sensor(s) (first)
• Side impact sensor(s) (second) (if equipped)
• B-pillar lower trim
• Seat frame and damaged seat components
• Rear Seat Side Bolster (deployed rear side airbag)
• Rear left and right seat belts
After a collision where the rear side airbag deployed, replace the items for the side(s) that deployed:
•SRS unit
• Deployed rear side airbag(s)
• Front seat belt(s)
• Rear left and right seat belts
In the event of front crash, replace the following sensors.
• Front impact sensor(s)
In the event of side crash, replace the following sensors of crash side.
• Side impact sensor(s) (first)
• Side impact sensor(s) (second) (if equipped)
Seat frame and damaged seat components
After a collision where the side curtain airbag deployed, replace the items for the side(s) that deployed:
• SRS unit [MODULE,AIRBAG CONTROL]
• Deployed side curtain airbag(s) [AIRBAG,ROOF]
• Front seat belt(s)
• Side impact sensor(s) (first) [AIRBAG SENSOR,SIDE]
• Side impact sensor(s) (second) [AIRBAG SENSOR,QTR PANEL]
• A-pillar trim
• B-pillar upper trim
• Rear side trim panel (2-door)
• C-pillar trim (4-door)
• All grab handles
• All related trim clips
• Sunvisor
• Headliner
PARTS THAT MUST BE INSPECTED AND REPLACED IF DAMAGED
Before doing any SRS repairs after a collision, check the deployed history and check for DTCs with the HDS to determine the components that need replacement.• Do not repair damaged SRS wiring, connectors or terminals. Replace the affected wiring harness(es).
• When replacing the front seat belt tensioner, check the seat belt mounting portion for deformation. If any deformation is found, repair it as needed.
• After a moderate to severe side or rear collision, inspect for any damage on the side curtain airbag or other related components. Replace the pillar trims and related clips as needed.
• Check the front passenger's weight sensor output after a vehicle collision, regardless if the airbags and seatbelt tensioners deployed or not.
During the repair process, inspect these areas:
• Inspect all the SRS wire harnesses. Replace, do not repair, any damaged harnesses, connectors or terminals.
• Inspect the cable reel for heat damage. If there is any damage, replace the cable reel. [CLOCK SPRING]
