DISABLE PROCEDURE AND TIME (Always Check Service Manual)

1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative (ground) cable.
2. Wait two minutes for the system capacitor to discharge before further system service.

PARTS THAT MUST BE REPLACED FOLLOWING A DEPLOYMENT

When Driver Airbag has deployed:
• Drivers Airbag [AIRBAG,STEERING WHEEL]
• Driver Airbag Trim Cover [SWITCH,HORN]
• Steering wheel
• Clockspring
• Steering Column Assembly including Intermediate Shaft/Coupler
• Driver airbag trim cover
• Seat belt tensioners
• All Seat Belt Retractors and Buckles in use

When Passenger Airbag has deployed:
• Passenger Airbag [AIRBAG,INSTRUMENT PNL]
• Instrument panel and pad assembly
• Passenger Airbag Wiring Harness or Connector (Must use approved wire crimping tool)

When Side Curtain Airbag has deployed:
• Side Curtain airbag [AIRBAG,ROOF]
• Headliner
• A, B, and C-pillar trim on deployed side
• All Seat Belt Retractors and Buckles in use

When Inflatable Knee Blocker has
deployed(only on 2008):
• Knee blocker airbag [AIRBAG,KNEE BOLSTER]
• Knee Blocker Airbag Trim Cover
• Instrument panel and pad assembly

After a frontal impact where an airbag has been deployed due to a collision, the following MUST be replaced:
• Front Seat Belt and Retractor (driver and passenger) with integral Tensioners

PARTS THAT MUST BE INSPECTED AND REPLACED IF DAMAGED

• Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) and front and side impact sensors and mounting surfaces and/or mounting brackets [MODULE,AIRBAG CONTROL; AIRBAG SENSOR,FRONT; AIRBAG SENSOR,SIDE]
• On vehicles with optional sunroof the sunroof and the sunroof drain tubes and hoses must be closely inspected following a side curtain airbag deployment
• Lower anchors and tether for children (LATCH)
• Inspect all trim panels

When Driver Airbag has deployed:
• Seat weight bladder and sensor
• Front impact sensors

When Passenger Airbag has deployed:
• Passenger Airbag disabled indicator
• Seat weight bladder and sensor

When Side Curtain Airbag has deployed:
• Seat belt tensioners

• All other seat belts should be closely inspected for cuts, tears, fraying, or damage in any way following any frontal impact or airbag deployment. The other seat belts are to be replaced when visible damage is incurred. Inspect the Lower Anchors and Tether for CHildren (LATCH) child restraint anchors for damage after an impact event and replace as needed
• All other airbag and vehicle components should be closely inspected following any airbag deployment, and should be replaced when visible damage is incurred
