DISABLE PROCEDURE AND TIME (Always Check Service Manual)

1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable
2. Wait two minutes for the system capacitor to discharge before
further service.

PARTS THAT MUST BE REPLACED FOLLOWING A DEPLOYMENT

When Driver Airbag has deployed:
• Driver airbag [AIRBAG,STEERING WHEEL]
• Clockspring
• Steering Column Assembly including Intermediate Shaft/Coupler
• Seat belt tensioners
• All Seat Belt Retractors and Buckles in use

When Passenger Airbag has deployed:
• Passenger airbag [AIRBAG,INSTRUMENT PNL]
• Passenger Airbag Door
• Passenger Airbag Wiring Harness, or Connector if available• (•Must use Chrysler approved wire crimping tool and splices)

When Seat Airbag has deployed:
• Seat airbag [AIRBAG,FRONT SEAT]
• Seat Airbag
• Seat Back Frame
• Seat Back Foam
• Seat Back Trim Cover
• Seat Wiring Harness

The seat belt tensioners are deployed by the same signal that deploys the driver and passenger airbags and must also be replaced along with their squib connectors if either front airbag has been deployed.

PARTS THAT MUST BE INSPECTED AND REPLACED IF DAMAGED

• It is critical that the mounting surfaces and mounting brackets for the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC), front impact sensors and side impact sensors located within the proximity of the impact damage be closely inspected and restored to
their original conditions. [MODULE,AIRBAG CONTROL; AIRBAG SENSOR,FRONT; AIRBAG SENSOR,SIDE; AIRBAG SENSOR,QTR PANEL]

• Lower anchors and tether for
children (LATCH)
• Inspect all trim panels
• Occupant Restraint Controller and mounting location

When Driver Airbag has deployed:
• Front Impact Sensors
• Steering Wheel

When Passenger Airbag has deployed:
• Instrument Panel

When Seat Airbag has deployed:
• Seat Belt Tensioners
• Side Impact Sensors

All other vehicle components should be closely inspected following any supplemental restraint component deployment, but are to be replaced only as required by the extent of the visible damage incurred.
