DISABLE PROCEDURE AND TIME (Always Check Service Manual)

Turn the ignition switch OFF and disconnect the negative cable from the battery, and wait at least 3 minutes before beginning the following procedures.

Before disconnecting SRS unit connector from the SRS unit, disconnect both seat belt tensioner 4P connectors.

Before disconnecting the cable reel 4P connector, disconnect driver's airbag 4P connector.

Before removing any of the SRS parts (including disconnection of the connectors), always disconnect SRS connector.

1. Disconnect the battery negative cable, and wait at least 3 minutes.

Driver's Airbag:
2. Remove the access panel from the steering wheel, then disconnect the driver's airbag 4P connector from the cable reel.

Front Passenger's Airbag:
3. Remove the glove box, and the glove box housing then disconnect the front passenger's airbag 4P connector from the dashboard wire harness.

Side Airbag:
4. Disconnect the side airbag 2P connector from the floor wire harness.

Side Curtain Airbag:
5. Disconnect the side curtain airbag 2P connector from the side curtain airbag subharness.

Seat Belt Tensioner:
6. Disconnect the seat belt tensioner 4P connector from the floor wire harness.

SRS Unit:
7. Disconnect SRS unit connector(s) from the SRS unit.


PARTS THAT MUST BE REPLACED FOLLOWING A DEPLOYMENT

After a seat belt tensioner deployment:
• SRS unit [Airbag Control Module]
• Seat belt tensioners [Front Seatbelts]
• Front impact sensors [Fender Airbag Sensor and/or Interior Airbag Sensor]
• Seat belts in use during collision
• Any damaged restraint system part

After a front airbag(s) deployment:
• SRS unit [Airbag Control Module]
• Deployed airbag(s) [Steering Wheel Airbag and/or Instrument Pnl Airbag]
• Seat belt tensioners [Front Seatbelts]
• Front impact sensors [Fender Airbag Sensor and/or Interior Airbag Sensor]
• Seat belts in use during collision
• Any damaged restraint system part

After a side airbag(s) deployment:
• SRS unit [Airbag Control Module]
• Deployed side airbag(s) [Front Seat Airbag]
• Side impact sensor(s) [Qtr Panel Airbag Sensor and/or Active Weight Airbag Snsr and/or Interior Airbag Sensor] (first and second) for the side(s) that deployed
• Center pillar lower trim
• Seat-back cover
• Seat belts in use during collision
• Any damaged restraint system part

After a side curtain airbag(s) deployment:
• SRS unit [Airbag Control Module]
• Deployed side curtain airbag(s) [Roof Airbag]
• Side impact sensor(s) [Qtr Panel Airbag Sensor and/or Active Weight Airbag Snsr and/or Interior Airbag Sensor] (first and second) for the side(s) that deployed
• Seat belt tensioners [Front Seatbelts] for the side(s) that deployed
• Rear safing sensor
• Roof trim
• Windshield pillar trim
• Center pillar lower trim
• Lock pillar trim
• Front grab handle
• Rear grab handle
• Sunvisor
• Any related trim clips
• All trim clips on that side (where a side curtain airbag has deployed), even if they appear to be undamaged for windshield pillar trim, center pillar trim, lock pillar trim, grab handles and sunvisors.
• Seat belts in use during collision
• Any damaged restraint system part

PARTS THAT MUST BE INSPECTED AND REPLACED IF DAMAGED

After a front airbag deployment:
• All the SRS wire harnesses [Interior Airbag Harness]
• Cable reel [Clockspring]
• Side impact sensors [Qtr Panel Airbag Sensor and/or Active Weight Airbag Snsr and/or Interior Airbag Sensor]
• Any restraint system part or wiring identified by diagnostic check

After a side airbag deployment:
• All the SRS wire harnesses [Interior Airbag Harness]
• Seat-back cushion
• Seat-back frame
• Front impact sensors [Fender Airbag Sensor]
• Any restraint system part or wiring identified by diagnostic check

After a side curtain airbag deployment:
• All the SRS wire harnesses [Interior Airbag Harness]
• Front impact sensors [Fender Airbag Sensor]
• Any restraint system part or wiring identified by diagnostic check
