DISABLE PROCEDURE AND TIME (Always Check Service Manual)

Before using an electric welder anywhere on the vehicle, disconnect the center airbag sensor assembly connectors. These connectors contain shorting springs. This feature reduces the possibility of the airbag deploying due to current entering the squib wiring.

1. Turn ignition switch to OFF and remove key.
2. Disconnect and isolate negative battery cable.
3. Wait at least 90 seconds.

PARTS THAT MUST BE REPLACED FOLLOWING A DEPLOYMENT

When any of the airbags have deployed due to the collision, be sure to replace all sensors in the damaged areas and center airbag sensor assembly. [AIRBAG SENSOR,FRONT; AIRBAG SENSOR,FRT DOOR; AIRBAG SENSOR,SIDE; MODULE, AIRBAG CONTROL]

[Replace deployed airbags]
• Steering pad [AIRBAG, STEERING WHEEL]
• Front passenger airbag assembly [AIRBAG,INSTRUMENT PNL]
• Driver side knee airbag assembly, [AIRBAG,KNEE BOLSTER]
• Front passenger side knee airbag assembly, [AIRBAG,KNEE BOLSTER]
• Front seat airbag assembly, [AIRBAG,FRONT SEAT]
• Curtain shield airbag assembly, [AIRBAG,ROOF]

• If the side airbag was deployed, replace the front seat airbag assembly, front seat back cover and front seat frame with adjuster assembly with the necessary parts in accordance with the extent of the collision damage.

PARTS THAT MUST BE INSPECTED AND REPLACED IF DAMAGED

Always confirm DTCs before disconnecting the cable from the negative (+) battery terminal
• Steering pad [AIRBAG, STEERING WHEEL]
• Steering wheel
• Front passenger airbag [AIRBAG,INSTRUMENT PNL]
• Knee airbag [AIRBAG,KNEE BOLSTER]
• Curtain shield airbag [AIRBAG,ROOF]
• Front seat side airbag [AIRBAG,FRONT SEAT]
• Seat belt pretensioner
• Center airbag sensor [MODULE, AIRBAG CONTROL]
• Front airbag sensor [AIRBAG SENSOR,FRONT]
• Side airbag sensor [AIRBAG SENSOR,SIDE]
• Door side airbag sensor [AIRBAG SENSOR,FRT DOOR]
• Occupant classification ECU
• Seat position airbag sensor
• SRS wire harness or connector
• Perform the initialization of the occupant classification ECU
• Replace the faulty parts of the seat belt systems (outer belt, inner belt, bolts, nuts, adjustable shoulder anchor, tether anchor hardware and other related parts). When inspecting a vehicle that was in a collision, be sure to check all of the seat belt systems regardless of whether or not the system was activated in the collision. Replace any damaged or malfunctioning systems.
