DISABLE PROCEDURE AND TIME (Always Check Service Manual)

1. Turn ignition switch to OFF and remove key.
2. Disconnect and isolate negative battery cable.
3. Wait at least 90 seconds.

When the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal, the memory settings of each system will be cleared. Because of this, be sure to write down the settings of each system before starting work. When work is finished, reset the settings of each system as before. Never use a backup power supply from outside the vehicle to avoid erasing the memory in a system

PARTS THAT MUST BE REPLACED FOLLOWING A DEPLOYMENT

When any of the airbags have deployed, replace the related airbag sensor and inspect its normal operation.

[Delpoyed Airbags]
• Steering wheel pad [AIRBAG, STEERING WHEEL]
• Front passenger airbag assembly [AIRBAG,INSTRUMENT PNL]
• Driver side knee airbag assembly [AIRBAG,KNEE BOLSTER]
• Front passenger side knee airbag assembly [AIRBAG,KNEE BOLSTER]
• Side airbag assembly [AIRBAG,FRONT SEAT]
• Rear seat side airbag assembly [AIRBAG,REAR SEAT], rear seatback cover and rear seatback pad
• Curtain shield airbag assembly [AIRBAG,ROOF]

• If the side airbag was deployed, replace the front seat airbag assembly, front seatback frame subassembly, separate type front seatback cover and separate type front seatback pad with the necessary parts in accordance with the extent of the collision damage.

• If the side airbag has deployed, replace the rear seat airbag assembly, bench type rear seatback cover and bench type rear seatback pad with new ones.

• Center airbag sensor assembly, [MODULE, AIRBAG CONTROL]
• When airbags have deployed as the result of a collision, be sure to replace all front airbag sensors in the damaged areas (anywhere in need of repair). [AIRBAG SENSOR,FENDER]
• When airbags have deployed as the result of a collision, be sure to replace all door side airbag sensors in the damaged areas (anywhere in need of repair). [AIRBAG SENSOR,FRT DOOR; AIRBAG SENSOR,SIDE]
• When airbags have deployed as the result of a collision, be sure to replace all rear airbag sensors in the damaged areas (anywhere in need of repair). [AIRBAG SENSOR,QTR PANEL]

PARTS THAT MUST BE INSPECTED AND REPLACED IF DAMAGED

• Steering Pad
• Instrument panel passenger airbag
• Curtain shield airbag
• Front seat airbag, rear seat airbag
• Lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag
• Lower No. 2 instrument panel airbag
• Front seat outer belt
• Rear seat 3 point type outer belt
• Center airbag sensor assembly
• Front airbag sensor
• Side airbag sensor
• Rear airbag sensor
• Door side airbag sensor
• Seat position airbag sensor
• Occupant detection ECU
• Steering wheel
• Instrument panel
• Instrument panel reinforcement
• Seat position sensor
• Occupant classification ECU
• SRS wire harness or connector
• Headliner and related trim
• If any of the SRS parts are dropped, or if any cracks, dents or other defects are found, replace them with new parts
• Perform initialization of the occupant detection ECU

Replace any faulty parts of the seat belt systems (outer belt, inner belt, bolts, nuts, adjustable shoulder anchor, tether anchor hardware and other related parts). When inspecting a vehicle that was in a collision, be sure to check all of the seat belt systems regardless of whether or not the system was activated in the collision. Replace any damaged or malfunctioning systems
