JLR Network Requirements
JLR Authorized Collision Repair Network Training Requirements
In pursuit of having the most elite authorized repair network, Jaguar Land Rover has revised its training requirements. JLRNA will adhere to already established JLR Global welding standards that will encompass JLR multi-material vehicle architecture. Beginning immediately, ALL Authorized Repair Centers and technicians will be required to complete recertification. These standards include a variety of mandatory eLearning courses offered though JLR Training and Development portals, and hands-on training. We are pleased to announce that Jaguar Land Rover will continue its comprehensive hands on training regiment through I-CAR. JLR will monitor certification progress daily.

Each JLR Authorized Collision Repair facility must have two technicians that have completed the following per the US Global Learner Journey:
- all of the required JLR online courses.
- AD3502802 - CD3500052 – JLR Steel Repair – Structural.
- AD4502803 - CD4500062 – JLR Aluminum Repair – Structural.
JLR Structural programs are included in initial assessment events. The steel repair course MUST BE successfully completed before attending the aluminum repair courses.
I-CAR Affiliation Required
Jaguar Land Rover values your I-CAR training as an important part of your training record. In order to ensure that your training record is complete, I-CAR sends Jaguar Land Rover your training information periodically. In order to properly identify you, I-CAR needs your JLR ID.
For many Jaguar Land Rover technicians hired through November 16, 2009, I-CAR already has your JLR ID on file, and you don't need to submit it here. There are three cases in which you need to use the form below to submit your JLR ID to I-CAR:
- You are a new employee at a Jaguar Land Rover Authorized Repair Network repair facility and have just received your JLR ID for the first time
- You recently received I-CAR training for the first time
- Jaguar Land Rover has not previously provided your information
If you have any questions or you are not sure of your I-CAR ID, please contact I-CAR Customer Care at (800) 422-7872 between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Central Time, Monday through Friday.
Recommended I-CAR Courses
I-CAR courses are not required, but highly recommended by Jaguar Land Rover because these courses will increase your welding knowledge and skill level.

JLR Steel and Aluminum Welding Accreditation Programs
Jaguar Land Rover welding standards are set high to ensure that collision-damaged JLR vehicles are restored to the original level of structural integrity and occupant safety. Because of the higher expectations for welding skills, there have been more welding certification test failures.
To ensure that managers and technicians are aware of the JLR welding standards and the online training resources available to them, there is a sign-off acknowledgement page that will appear when you click the Register button to sign up for a welding session. When you click the Acknowledge button, you are stating that you and your technicians are aware of the welding test expectations at the JLR training and testing programs at the I-CAR Appleton Tech Center and Jaguar Land Rover ACADEMY – South.
Please take advantage of these training resources!
Here are some facts about the JLR steel and aluminum welding tests at the I-CAR Appleton Tech Center and Jaguar Land Rover ACADEMY – South:
- The JLR welding certifications are valid for 3 years.
- Technicians that attended a JLR welding program at I-CAR before January 1, 2015 must attend the initial steel or aluminum welding course, not a reassessment test.
- Any weld flaw in the test piece now results in a referral.
- A referral requires the technician to attend the reassessment welding program.
- Attending a retest results in added expense, and time away from the job and from family.
The JLR welding test standards used to evaluate the test welds have very little subjectivity. Jaguar Land Rover Global requires I-CAR to record multiple high-resolution photos of each weld on the test piece and all coupons from each technician. These files are sent to the JLR Global training team and checked for compliance to the JLR welding standard.
The decision on whether a technician passes the assessment test is based on the JLR Global welding standards, not on the opinion of the instructor administering the test at I-CAR.
Course Content
The steel and aluminum courses will include a combination of classroom lecture and hands-on workshop activities to coach them for the assessment test at the end of each program.
Expectations
Technicians must be able to weld proficiently before attending either program. This is not just a welding training program, IT IS A WELDING ASSESSMENT TEST! There will be welding coaching and a limited amount of time allowed for practice during the class, but technicians will struggle with the pace of the course if they are not proficient in steel and aluminum welding before they attend.

Cancellation Policy
Classroom Training enrollments cancelled close to the class start date (late-notice cancellations), those unattended altogether (no-shows), or those who show up late (late arrivals) waste valuable resources that cannot be recovered.
In an effort to reinforce the value of Jaguar Land Rover Training & Development (JLR Training) classroom training seats, JLR Training will charge Body Shops for no-shows or for cancelling any enrollment within thirty (30) days of the class start date for the full price of the event. Late cancellations and no-shows due to extenuating circumstances, such as a personal emergency or weather travel delays, will be considered on a case by case basis. Proof of the circumstance is required (doctor’s note or flight cancellation notification).
Late arrivals are also subject to these terms. If a Technician is more than 30 minutes late to an MET event, they are too late to catch up with the rest of class. If you show up more than 30 minutes late, you will be sent home and will need to reschedule your training for another session. If you are late within the designated timeframe, standard event fees apply. If you are late beyond the designated timeframe, you will also be charged the full price of the event due to taking up a seat from someone else. Similar to no-shows and late cancellations, late arrivals due to extenuating circumstances, such as a personal emergency or weather travel delays, will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Proof of the circumstance is required (doctor’s note or flight cancellation notification).
In the event of a no-show due to extenuating circumstances, such as a personal emergency or flight cancellations, JLRNA must be contacted by noon (local time) on the first day of class in order for any consideration to be applied. To cancel your booking or notify us of a late cancellation, please contact JLRNA at JLRCRN@jaguarlandrover.com. You will need to provide your name, booking reference, address and details of the booking.
