Accessing Disable Procedure

To find the Mitsubishi High-Voltage Disable Procedures:

  1. Go to mitsubishitechinfo.com
  2. Enter username and password (upper left corner)
  3. Click Login
  4. Click Continue (middle left of page)
  5. Click Service Information (top left of page)
  6. Click Click Here (middle of page)
  7. Enter the VIN or from the dropdown menu (center of page) select the Year and Model
  8. At the bottom of the dropdown, click Service Manual
  9. Select blue link under the box with the vehicle information that says Click Here to view the table of contents for the Service Manual
  10. Click the Electric Motor Unit and Main Drive Lithium-Ion Battery (a dropdown menu will appear)
  11. From the dropdown menu, click Precautions on How to Use the High-Voltage Vehicle (a pop-up window will open)
  12. Once the page loads, scroll down to Service Plug and Service Lid Removal Steps

Hybrid And Electric Vehicle Welding Best Practices

When welding on an HEV or EV, follow the same precautions as when welding on a conventional vehicle. In addition, there are precautions to take with the high-voltage battery. As a best practice, disconnect both the 12 V battery and the high-voltage battery service disconnect. (Note: Always disable the high-voltage battery following the vehicle makers repair information and follow all safety precautions.)

Refinish Precautions

"The High-Voltage Traction Battery (HVTB) in a Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) can be affected and damaged by excessively high temperatures. The temperature in some body shop paint booths can exceed 60°C (140°F). Therefore, during refinishing operations, the paint booth temperature must be set at or below 60°C (140°F) with a bake time of 45 minutes or less. Temperatures in excess of 60°C (140°F) or bake durations longer than 45 minutes will require the HVTB be removed from the vehicle prior to placing in the paint booth."
