OEM Linking Pin: 2015 Ford F-150 Cosmetic Panel Repair
As part of the I-CAR Repairability Technical Support (RTS) OEM linking pin activity, we are helping to connect the collision repair industry to the vehicle makers. We‘ve had technical inquiries that asked for clarification on repairing cosmetic panels on a 2015-2020 Ford F-150.
We reached out to our contact at Ford for clarification on whether the outer uniside panels can be repaired, and more specifically, if the aluminum cosmetic panel is cracked. Per our contact at Ford: "the part may be repaired if it is cracked or torn." Ford also states that: "The exterior body panels on the 2015-2020 F-150 are 6022 aluminum alloy."
