What does Suzuki say about pre- and post-repair system scanning?
Response
Suzuki does not currently have a pre- and post-repair scan position statement in the U.S.
Per I-CAR curriculum: "Performing a pre-scan offers several advantages. It helps identify and document active DTCs, often including timestamps that indicate when faults occurred. This distinguishes between pre-existing codes, codes caused during a collision, and those generated during repairs. By identifying issues or calibration needs in advance, facilities can provide more accurate repair estimates, reducing the chances of discovering additional problems during repairs or post-repair.
A post-repair scan is a crucial quality control step that ensures all DTCs have been addressed and the vehicle's systems, including ADAS and other safety features that may need calibration, function properly. Otherwise, certain malfunctions may remain undetected.”
