Ford does not have a sectioning procedure for the rear rail.
Per the 2016 Ford Explorer Workshop manual: “NOTICE: The rear side member(s) are constructed of High-Strength and Ultra High-Strength steels and cannot be sectioned. Side member assembly must be replaced at factory joints.”
