Per I-CAR curriculum: Fender liners and splash shields with minor damage may be repaired using heat or plastic repair techniques. However, in most situations, the repair may be difficult due to thin materials. Inspect for damaged clips and mounting holes. Tab repair may be an option.
Plastic repairs to damaged fender liners are often not feasible because it is not a refinished part. Also, it is difficult to match some textures. Typically, damaged fender liners and splash shields are replaced.
