What does I-CAR say about cutting access windows?

Response

Per I-CAR curriculum: "Cutting any type of access window is technically considered a sectioning joint and can be more intrusive since a window has two or more cuts. Re-welding several cuts creates a larger heat-affect zone. This affects higher strength steel. It also creates a larger area for refinishing. For these reasons, this procedure is done only when recommended by the vehicle maker."
