Locating OEM-Approved ADAS Tools: Subaru

When researching calibration procedures for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), you may notice that many of the procedures require the use of specific tools. Some tools may be everyday items like string, tape, levels, paper, etc. However, many of them are OEM-specific tools or scan tools. Often identifying and locating where to purchase these specific tools can be difficult.

The RTS team is researching how to find these tools to make it easier for technicians performing these procedures. As we research the location of these special tools, we are compiling the information in a series of OEM-specific articles. Let’s see where you can find Subaru-approved tool information.

Subaru diagnostic tool and software information can be found at techinfo.subaru.com. Once on the service site, click on the Information dropdown at the top of the page. From that dropdown, click on Special Tool Information. The special tool information document explains year ranges and computer system requirements in order for their diagnostic software to function.

To find other tools, scroll all the way to the bottom of the service site and click on the button for Links under the Other Sites category. A page will load with different links to tool and equipment websites. To find ADAS tools, click on the Dealer Equipment and Services link. Here you can either search for tools using the search bar or use the categories on the left side of the page.

Always follow OEM procedures when calibrating ADAS. Make sure to check procedures for the required tools to help ensure a complete, safe, and quality repair.
