Locating OEM-Approved ADAS Tools: Genesis

When researching calibration procedures for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), you may notice that many of the procedures require the use of specific tools. Some tools may be everyday items like string, tape, levels, paper, etc. However, many of them are OEM-specific tools or scan tools. Often identifying and locating where to purchase these specific tools can be difficult.

The RTS team is researching how to find these tools to make it easier for technicians performing these procedures. As we research the location of these special tools, we are compiling the information in a series of OEM-specific articles. Let’s see where you can find Genesis-approved tool information.

Information for Genesis J2534 Diagnostics can be found at www.genesistechinfo.com. Once you are logged in:

  1. Click on Diagnostic Tools button (across top of page)
  2. Click J2534 Software

A new page opens with information about the J2534 Diagnostic Tool Software. Within the document, Genesis gives computer requirement for the diagnostic software, as well as a couple different vehicle communication interfaces needed.

To find other tools needed for ADAS calibration:

  1. Click on Tools & Equipment (top of the page)
  2. Click on Genesis Tool Site (under Tools & Equipment)
  3. A new page will open with a link to the tool site
  4. Once on the tool site, click on Service Tools (top of the page)

You can search the online tool catalog by using the categories on the left side of the page, or by using the search bar at the top of the page.

Always follow OEM procedures when calibrating ADAS. Make sure to check procedures for the required tools to help ensure a complete, safe, and quality repair.
