DISABLE PROCEDURE AND TIME (Always Check Service Manual)
WARNING:To avoid rendering the SRS inoperative, which could increase the risk of personal injury or death in the event of a collision which would result in air bag inflation, all maintenance must be performed by an authorized NISSAN dealer.
1. Turn the ignition switch off.
2. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
3. Wait at least 3 minutes.
PARTS THAT MUST BE REPLACED FOLLOWING A DEPLOYMENT
For front air bag deployment:• Air bag module (driver and passenger) (install with new fasteners)
• Spiral cable and combination switch
• Front seat belt pre-tensioner assemblies after a frontal collision (install with new fasteners)
• All seat belt assemblies (including anchor bolts) in use during the collision
• Diagnosis sensor unit (install with new bolts and ground bolt)
• Crash zone sensor (install with new fasteners) [Front Airbag Sensor]
• Crash zone sensor bracket (install with new fasteners) [Front Airbag Snsr Brkt]
• Any damaged supplemental restraint system part
For a side air bag and side curtain air bag deployment:
• All parts of seat back with deployed side air bag module (including front seatback frame)
• Front side air bag module (on the side on which the side curtain air bag module is activated) (Replace with new torx nuts coated with bonding agent.)
• Side curtain air bag module (on the side on which the side curtain air bag is activated) (Replace with new bolts) (Repair the center pillar inner, etc., before installing new one, if damaged)
• Satellite sensor (on collision side) (Replace with new nuts) (Repair the center pillar inner, etc., before installing new one, if damaged) [Side Airbag Sensor]
• Diagnosis sensor unit (replace with new bolts and ground bolt)
• Seat belt pre-tensioner assemblies (install with new bolts)
• Any damaged supplemental restraint system part
PARTS THAT MUST BE INSPECTED AND REPLACED IF DAMAGED
For front air bag deployment:• Steering wheel
• Steering wheel wiring harness, connectors and terminals
• Wiring harnesses, connectors and terminals
• Passenger seat cushion assembly with Occupant Detection System control unit
• Instrument panel (if damaged, replace with new bolts)
• All seat belt assemblies not in use during collision, including retractors attaching hardware
• Any restraint system part or wiring identified by diagnostic check
For a side air bag and side curtain air bag deployment:
• Front seat belt pre-tensioner assembly (replace if the inner center pillar has damage)
• Interior trim/headlining on the side of the collision
• Center inner pillar on the collision side for damage (dents, cracks, deformation), repair if damaged
• All seat belt assemblies not in use during collision, including retractors and attaching hardware
• Any restraint system part or wiring identified by diagnostic check
