DISABLE PROCEDURE AND TIME (Always Check Service Manual)
WARNING:To avoid rendering the SRS inoperative, which could increase the risk of personal injury or death in the event of a collision which would result in air bag inflation, all maintenance should be performed by an authorized NISSAN/INFINITI dealer.
1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
2. Disconnect both battery cables.
3. Wait at least 3 minutes.

PARTS THAT MUST BE REPLACED FOLLOWING A DEPLOYMENT
For a front airbag deployment:• If the driver air bag has deployed: REPLACE Install with new fasteners.
• If the front passenger air bag has deployed: REPLACE Install with new fasteners
• If any of the front air bags or seat belt pre tensioners• have been activated: REPLACE the crash zone sensor and bracket with new fasteners [AIRBAG SENSOR,FRONT]
• Driver seat belt pre tensioner (All applicable locations: buckle, retractor, lap outer)• assemblies with new fasteners, if deployed
• Passenger seat belt pre tensioner (All applicable locations: buckle, retractor, lap outer)• assemblies with new fasteners, if deployed
• If any of the SRS components have been activated: REPLACE the diagnosis sensor unit. Install with new fasteners. [MODULE,AIRBAG CONTROL]
• If the driver front air bag has deployed: REPLACE the spiral cable. [CLOCK SPRING]
• If the front passenger air bag has deployed: REPLACE the instrument panel assembly. (integrated type)
For a side airbag deployment:
• If the side curtain air bag LH has deployed: REPLACE the side curtain air bag module LH. Install with new fasteners [AIRBAG,ROOF]
• If the side curtain air bag RH has deployed: REPLACE the side curtain air bag module RH. Install with new fasteners [AIRBAG,ROOF]
• If the front side air bag LH has deployed: REPLACE front seatback assembly LH. [AIRBAG,FRONT SEAT; seatback sold as components]
• If the front side air bag RH has deployed: REPLACE front seatback assembly RH. [AIRBAG,FRONT SEAT; seatback sold as components]
• If any of the SRS components have deployed: REPLACE the side air bag (satellite) sensor on the collision side with new fasteners. [AIRBAG SENSOR,FRT DOOR; AIRBAG SENSOR,SIDE]
• If any of the SRS components have deployed: REPLACE the diagnosis sensor unit with new fasteners [MODULE,AIRBAG CONTROL]
Seat belt pre-tensioner assemblies:
• Confirm seat belt pre-tensioner activation using CONSULT only
• NISSAN recommends that all seat belt assemblies in use during a collision be replaced unless the collision was minor and the belts show no damage and continue to operate properly.
PARTS THAT MUST BE INSPECTED AND REPLACED IF DAMAGED
For a front air bag deployment:• Steering wheel
• Spiral cable
• Crash zone sensor
• Non-deployed airbags
• Steering wheel harness, connectors and terminals
• Wiring harness, connectors and terminals
• Instrument panel assembly
• All seat belt assemblies including retractors and attaching hardware
• If any component of seat belt assembly is questionable, do not repair. Replace the entire seat belt assembly
• Seats and seat mounting points
• Occupant classification system (Passenger seat)
• Replace any SRS components showing visible signs of damage. (dents, cracks and deformation, etc.)
• Inspect all seat belt assemblies including retractors and attached hardware after any collision.
For a side air bag deployment:
• Non-deployed airbags
• Side air bag (satellite) sensor (LH or RH)
• Trim/headliner
• Center inner pillar on the collision side for damage (dents, cracks, deformation), repair if damaged
• Check for visible signs of damage (dents, cracks, deformation, etc.) of the interior trim on the collision side
• Seats and seat mounting points
• All seat belt assemblies including retractors and attaching hardware
• If any component of seat belt assembly is questionable, do not repair. Replace the entire seat belt assembly
Replace any seat belt assembly (including anchor bolts) if:
• The seat belt was in use at the time of a collision (except for minor collisions and the belts, retractors and buckles show no damage and continue to operate properly).
• The seat belt was damaged in an accident (i.e. torn webbing, bent retractor or guide).
• The seat belt attaching point was damaged in an accident.
• Inspect the seat belt attaching area for damage or distortion and repair as necessary before installing a new seat belt assembly. Anchor bolts are deformed or worn out.
Replace any SRS components showing visible signs of damage. (dents, cracks and deformation, etc.)
