DISABLE PROCEDURE AND TIME (Always Check Service Manual)
Before starting work on pyrotechnical components or work involving pyrotechnical components, it must be ensured that there is no power supply to the vehicle and the vehicle must be secured against accidental restarting. All electrical consumers must be switched off. Otherwise they can be damaged when the ground line is disconnected/connected.
1) Switch off ignition and keep transmitter key at a location beyond transmitter range (at least 2 m)
2) Detach ground line from on-board electrical system battery
3) Using a diode test lamp, check the on-board electrical system for voltage between the positive line of the on-board electrical system battery and the disconnected ground line
If the diode test lamp lights up, the on-board electrical system is still active because of a defect in the electrical system.
