DISABLE PROCEDURE AND TIME (Always Check Service Manual)
Make sure you have the anti-theft code(s) for the audio system and/or the audio-navigation system (if equipped).Before disconnecting the SRS unit connectors, always disconnect the appropriate SRS parts connectors.
1. Make sure the ignition switch is in LOCK (0)
2. Disconnect and isolate the negative cable from the battery.
3. Wait at least 3 minutes before starting work

PARTS THAT MUST BE REPLACED FOLLOWING A DEPLOYMENT
After a collision where the seat belt tensioners deployed, replace these items:• SRS unit [MODULE,AIRBAG CONTROL]
• Seat belt tensioners
• Front impact sensors, [AIRBAG SENSOR,FENDER]
After a collision where the front airbag(s) deployed, replace these items:
• SRS unit [MODULE,AIRBAG CONTROL]
• Deployed airbag(s) [AIRBAG,STEERING WHEEL; AIRBAG,INSTRUMENT PNL]
• Seat belt tensioners
• Front impact sensors, [AIRBAG SENSOR,FENDER]
• Dashboard [with a deployed Instrument Panel mounted Airbag]
After a collision where the side airbag(s) deployed, replace these items:
• SRS unit [MODULE,AIRBAG CONTROL]
• Deployed side airbag(s) [AIRBAG,FRONT SEAT]
• Side impact sensor(s) (first) for the side(s) that deployed [AIRBAG SENSOR,SIDE]
• Side impact sensor(s) (second) for the side(s) that deployed [AIRBAG SENSOR,QTR PANEL]
• B-pillar lower trim
• Seat frame and related parts. After a collision where the side airbag was deployed, replace the side airbag, the seat frame, and the related parts with new parts. If the seat-back cover/pad is split, it must be replaced
• Seat belt tensioners
After a collision where a side curtain airbag has deployed, replace the items for the side(s) that deployed:
• SRS unit [MODULE,AIRBAG CONTROL]
• Deployed side curtain airbag(s) [AIRBAG,ROOF]
• Seat belt tensioner(s) for the side(s) that deployed
• Side impact sensor(s) (first) for the side(s) that deployed [AIRBAG SENSOR,SIDE]
• Side impact sensor(s) (second) for the side(s) that deployed [AIRBAG SENSOR,QTR PANEL]
• Roof trim [Headliner]
• A-pillar trim
• B-pillar lower trim
• C-pillar trim
• Front grab handle
• Rear grab handle
• All related trim clips
• Sunvisors
• Coat hooks
PARTS THAT MUST BE INSPECTED AND REPLACED IF DAMAGED
• Before doing any SRS repairs, check the DTCs for the less obvious deployed components (seat belt tensioners, front impact sensors, side airbag sensors, etc.)• Do not replace the ODS unit unless it is physically damaged or a specific fault was found during DTC troubleshooting.
• After a vehicle collision, do the ODS unit operation check.
• After a vehicle collision, inspect the front seat active head restrains
• Inspect all the SRS wire harnesses. Replace, do not repair, any damaged harnesses.
• Inspect the cable reel for heat damage. If there is any damage, replace the cable reel [CLOCK SPRING]
• After a moderate to severe side or rear collision, inspect for any damage on the side curtain airbag or other related components. Replace the components as needed.
• Check the front passenger's weight sensor output after a vehicle collision
• Replace all damaged parts
