OEM Restraints System Part Replacement Search
2024 Tesla Model 3
DISABLE PROCEDURE AND TIME (Always Check Service Manual)
Before doing any SRS repairs, Check for DTCs with the HDS for the less obvious deployed components (front seat belt tensioners, front impact sensors, side impact sensors, rear safing sensor, etc.).Make sure you have the anti-theft code(s) for the audio system and/or the audio-navigation system (if equipped).
Before disconnecting the SRS unit connectors, always disconnect the appropriate SRS parts connectors.
1. Disconnect LV power. See LV Battery • Li-lon (Disconnect and Connect).
2. Remove the 2nd row lower seat cushion.
3. Set the multimeter to measure voltage, and then measure the voltage across the LV auxiliary battery terminals.
• CAUTION
If the voltage across the battery terminals is less than 13 volts or greater than 16 volts, the multimeter is not measuring reliably and must not be used.
4. Remove all jewelry and empty your pockets before continuing this procedure.
5. Put on HV insulating gloves, leather outer gloves, and safety glasses before continuing this procedure.
6. Remove the HV probe cover.
7. Use the multimeter to probe the voltages.
8• Install the HV probe cover.
9. Return to the procedure that required the vehicle to be electrically isolated.
• Wait 1 minute for the energy reserve capacitors within the RCM to discharge.

PARTS THAT MUST BE REPLACED FOLLOWING A DEPLOYMENT
After a collision where any seat belt pretensioner deployed, replace the items below and all accompanying fasteners:• Any seat belt that has a deployed pretensioner, and the accompanying buckle
• The 2nd row seat belts and buckles that were in use during the collision
• The Pyrotechnic battery disconnect fuse [IGNITER,BATTERY INTERRUPT]
• The Restraint Control Module (RCM) [MODULE,AIRBAG CONTROL]
After a collision where a front airbag deployed, replace the items below and all accompanying fasteners:
• All deployed airbags [AIRBAG,STEERING WHEEL; AIRBAG,INSTRUMENT PNL; AIRBAG,KNEE BOLSTER]
• Any 1st row seat belt that has a deployed pretensioner, and the accompanying buckle
• If the driver airbag deployed: The steering wheel assembly
• Any 2nd row seat belts and buckles that were in use during the collision
• The pyrotechnic battery disconnect [IGNITER,BATTERY INTERRUPT]
• The Restraint Control Module (RCM) [MODULE,AIRBAG CONTROL]
After a collision where the side air bag(s) deployed, replace these items and all accompanying fasteners:
• All deployed airbags [AIRBAG & SEAT ASSY,FRT; AIRBAG & SEAT BACK ASSY; AIRBAG,ROOF]
• Any seat belt that has a deployed pretensioner, and the accompanying buckle
• The complete 1st row seat assembly that contains the deployed airbag [AIRBAG & SEAT ASSY,FRT]
• Any 2nd row seat belts and buckles that were in use during the collision
• The pyrotechnic battery disconnect [IGNITER,BATTERY INTERRUPT]
• The Restraint Control Module (RCM) [MODULE,AIRBAG CONTROL]
PARTS THAT MUST BE INSPECTED AND REPLACED IF DAMAGED
After any collision:• Inspect the harnesses and harness connectors that connect to all deployed airbags and pretensioners. Replace any damaged harnesses.
• Inspect the 2nd row seat belts for visible deformation in the seat belt system. Replace any damaged seat belts and their buckles.
• Inspect any impact sensor near the collision area for damage. If a sensor is damaged, replace the sensor and the hardware that attaches the sensor to the vehicle.
[AIRBAG SENSOR,FRT BMPR;AIRBAG SENSOR,FRONT; AIRBAG SENSOR,FRT DOOR; AIRBAG SENSOR,SIDE; AIRBAG SENSOR,SEAT TRACK; AIRBAG SENSOR,QTR PANEL]
• On any undeployed knee airbag (if equipped): Inspect the knee airbag cover for visible signs of damage. If the knee airbag cover is damaged, replace the knee airbag cover and inspect the
knee air bag cushion. If there are visible signs of damage to the knee airbag cushion (such as scuffs, rips or holes) replace it. Inspect the knee airbag module for visual damage (such as bent hooks or scuffing), and replace it if damaged.
• Inspect the 2nd row seats, seat belts, and pretensioners for visible signs of deformation or signs of wear. Replace any damaged components.
• Inspect the seat belt height adjuster and webbing in the 1st row (behind the B-pillar trim) for signs of wear or deformation. Replace any damaged components
• Use Toolbox to test the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) for proper operation.
Additionally, after a collision where the driver airbag deployed:
• Inspect the clock spring for melting or other physical damage. [CLOCK SPRING/LVR,STRG]
• Inspect the top of the steering column.
