DISABLE PROCEDURE AND TIME (Always Check Service Manual)

During the Battery disable/enable process a pre and/or post scan is required using an EM recommended scan tool to read and/or clear diagnostic trouble codes (DTC’s).


1. Turn ignition switch to OFF
2. Disconnect the battery negative cable from battery
3. Wait at least 3 minutes before beginning work

PARTS THAT MUST BE REPLACED FOLLOWING A DEPLOYMENT

When the front airbag(s) deployed after a collision, replace the following items:
• SRSCM [MODULE,AIRBAG CONTROL]
• Deployed airbag(s) [AIRBAG,STEERING WHEEL; AIRBAG,KNEE BOLSTER; AIRBAG,INSTRUMENT PNL]
• Replace the crash pad after the PAB [AIRBAG,INSTRUMENT PNL] has been deployed
• Seat belt pretensioner(s)
• Anchor pretensioner(s)
• Front impact sensors [AIRBAG SENSOR,FENDER]
• SRS wiring harnesses

When the side/curtain airbag(s) deployed after a collision, replace the following items:
• SRSCM [MODULE,AIRBAG CONTROL]
• Deployed airbag(s) [AIRBAG & SEAT BACK ASSY; AIRBAG,ROOF]
• Side impact sensor(s) for the deployed side(s) [AIRBAG SENSOR,FRT DOOR; AIRBAG SENSOR,SIDE]
• SRS wiring harnesses
• Seat belt pretensioner(s)
• Anchor pretensioner(s)

The side airbag cannot be disassembled from the seat back assembly, so replace the seat back assembly when replacing the side airbag.

PARTS THAT MUST BE INSPECTED AND REPLACED IF DAMAGED

• Steering wheel
• When the front airbag(s) deployed after a collision, Inspect the clock spring for heat damage. If any damage found, replace the clock spring
• OCS
