DISABLE PROCEDURE AND TIME (Always Check Service Manual)

Warning!
The supplemental restraint system (SRS) is active for a certain length of time after the power supply has been disconnected.
Wait for a minimum of 30 seconds before disconnecting or removing any SRS components.

Warning!
Make sure that the vehicle electrical system is fully depowered and no other power source is connected.

1) Set the vehicle to Inactive mode.
2) Wait for a minimum of 30 seconds before disconnecting or removing any SRS components.

PARTS THAT MUST BE REPLACED FOLLOWING A DEPLOYMENT

Replace all pyrotechnic components that have deployed and/or give a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC).
[AIRBAG,STEERING WHEEL; AIRBAG,KNEE BOLSTER; AIRBAG,INSTRUMENT PNL; AIRBAG,FRONT SEAT; AIRBAG,ROOF]

• Replace collapsed steering column with new.
• The steering wheel, if the steering wheel airbag has been deployed
• Driver´s airbag contact reel [CLOCK SPRING]
• Collision sensors located in the front, when collision has occurred that affects this area (Front bumper) [AIRBAG SENSOR,FRONT]
• Dashboard, speakers and panels below the dashboard, (visible damage)

• Occupant weight sensor OWS

• Replace all seat belts and seat belt pretensioners that give a diagnostic trouble code, including height adjusters, end anchors and quick release.
• Replace the seat belt buckle of the deployed seat belt pretensioner.
• Second row mid position seat, complete, provided that the seat belt tensioner has deployed.

• Any list or panel, and headliner, in case damage from pyrotechnical deployment has occurred.

• In case of side impact, replace all collision sensors on the damaged side of the vehicle. [AIRBAG SENSOR,FRT DOOR; AIRBAG SENSOR,SIDE]

PARTS THAT MUST BE INSPECTED AND REPLACED IF DAMAGED

• Dashboard, speakers and panels below the dashboard, (visible damage)
• Windscreen (cracks, damages)
• Seat belt anchor points, in body frame or in seat (deformations)
• Floor carpet and footrest (cracks or damage)
• All pedals (cracks, damages)
• Sun roof
• Damaged wiring
• Supplemental Restraint System (SRS), refer to section "Additional information".
• Check front seats and replace with new, if deformation damage has occurred. Check both WHIPS elements.
• Second row seat. Check and replace with new seat if deformation damage has occurred.
• Third row seat. Check and replace with new seat if deformation damage has occurred.
• If the Inflatable Curtain IC has deployed, the collision sensors in B• and C-pillars must be replaced as well as any damaged Inflatable
• Curtain IC fastener.
• Any list or panel, and headliner, in case damage from pyrotechnical deployment has occurred.

Additional information:
• During the guarantee period, the fault code SRS-112 must not be erased. The Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Module must be returned to Volvocars following current routines
• The Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Module must always be replaced if fault codes cannot be erased, or if the SRS Module shows mechanical damage, or if damage can be stated in the floor area around the SRS Module (risk of mechanical weakness with regards to its mounting point.
• If the vehicle is equipped with Volvo On Call, the backup battery and the signal wiring from SRS to TEM must be checked.
• The vehicle must be subject to a road test, in order to verify full steering and braking functionality.
