2019 INFINITI M/M HYBRID/Q70/Q70 HYBRID

DISABLE PROCEDURE AND TIME (Always Check Service Manual)

WARNING:
To avoid rendering the SRS inoperative, which could increase the risk of personal injury or death in the event of a collision which would result in air bag inflation, all maintenance should be performed by an authorized NISSAN/INFINITI dealer.

1. Turn the ignition switch OFF (if equipped)
1. Turn the push-button ignition switch to the LOCK position (if equipped)
2. Disconnect both battery cables
3. Wait at least 3 minutes.

PARTS THAT MUST BE REPLACED FOLLOWING A DEPLOYMENT

FOR FRONTAL COLLISION:
• If the Driver air bag has deployed: REPLACE Install with new fasteners [AIRBAG,STEERING WHEEL]
• If the Passenger front air bag has deployed: REPLACE Install with new fasteners [AIRBAG,INSTRUMENT PNL]
• If any of the front air bags or seat belt pretensioners have been activated: REPLACE the crash zone sensor and bracket with new fasteners [AIRBAG SENSOR,FRONT]
• Seat belt pre-tensioner assemblies (All applicable locations: buckle, retractor, lap outer). If the driver or passenger Seat belt pre-tensioner has been activated: REPLACE all seat belt pre-tensioner assemblies with new fasteners. •: Confirm seat belt pre-tensioner activation using CONSULT only.
• If any of the SRS components have been activated: REPLACE the Diagnosis sensor unit. Install with new fasteners. [MODULE,AIRBAG CONTROL]
• If the Driver air bag has deployed: REPLACE the spiral cable. [CLOCK SPRING]
• If the front passenger air bag has deployed: REPLACE the instrument panel assembly. (integrated type)

FOR SIDE AND ROLLOVER COLLISION:
• If the side curtain air bag LH has deployed: REPLACE the side curtain air bag module LH [AIRBAG,ROOF]
• If the side curtain air bag RH has deployed: REPLACE the side curtain air bag module RH [AIRBAG,ROOF]
• If the front side air bag LH has deployed: REPLACE front seatback assembly LH [AIRBAG & SEAT BACK ASSY]
• If the front side air bag RH has deployed: REPLACE front seatback assembly RH. [AIRBAG & SEAT BACK ASSY]
• If any of the SRS components have deployed: REPLACE the side air bag (satellite) sensor on the collision side [AIRBAG SENSOR,FRT DOOR; AIRBAG SENSOR,SIDE]
• If any of the SRS components have deployed: REPLACE the diagnosis sensor unit [MODULE,AIRBAG CONTROL]

PARTS THAT MUST BE INSPECTED AND REPLACED IF DAMAGED

For a front airbag deployment:
• Steering wheel
• Occupant Classification System
• Steering wheel harness, connectors and terminals
• Wiring harness, connectors and terminals
• After air bag inflates, the front instrument panel assembly should be replaced if damaged
• Seats and seat mounting points
• Replace any seat belt assembly (including anchor bolts) if:
• The seat belt was in use at the time of a collision (except for minor collisions and the belts, retractors and buckles show no damage and continue to operate properly).
• The seat belt was damaged in an accident (i.e. torn webbing, bent retractor or guide).
• The seat belt attaching point was damaged in an accident. Inspect the seat belt attaching area for damage or distortion and repair as necessary before installing a new seat belt assembly.
• Anchor bolts are deformed or worn out.
• Do not repair, splice or modify the SRS wiring harness. If the harness is damaged, replace it with a new one
• Always install with new fasteners
• Replace any SRS components showing visible signs of damage (dents, cracks and deformation).

For a side airbag deployment:
• Replace occupant classification system control unit and passenger front seat cushion as an assembly, if replacement is required
• Check the center inner pillar on the collision side for damage (dents, cracks, deformation, etc.)
• Trim/Headliner: Check for visible signs of damage (dents, cracks, deformation, etc.) of the interior trim on the collision side
• Seats and seat mounting points
• Trim/headlining: Check for visible signs of damage (dents, cracks, deformation) of the interior trim on the collision side
• Always install with new fasteners
• Replace any SRS components showing visible signs of damage (dents, cracks and deformation).

WARNING:
Inspect all seat belt assemblies including retractors and attached hardware after any collision. NISSAN recommends that all seat belt assemblies in use during a collision be replaced unless the collision was minor and the belts show no damage and continue to operate properly. Failure to do so could result in serious personal injury in an accident. Seat belt assemblies not in use during a collision should also be replaced if either damage or improper operation is noted. Seat belt pre-tensioners should be replaced even if the seat belts are not in use during a frontal collision in which the air bags are deployed.

Replace any seat belt assembly (including anchor bolts) if:
• The seat belt was in use at the time of a collision (except for minor collisions and the belts, retractors and buckles show no damage and continue to operate properly).
• The seat belt was damaged in an accident (i.e. torn webbing, bent retractor or guide).
• The seat belt attaching point was damaged in an accident. Inspect the seat belt attaching area for damage or distortion and repair as necessary before installing a new seat belt assembly.
• Anchor bolts are deformed or worn out.
• The front seat belt pre-tensioner should be replaced even if the seat belts are not in use during the collision in which the air bags are deployed.
