DISABLE PROCEDURE AND TIME (Always Check Service Manual)

Before using an electric welder on the vehicle, remove any SRS parts around the area being repaired.

NOTICE:
After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable
from the negative (3) auxiliary battery terminal. See the Navigation note below.

1. Turn power switch OFF
2. Disconnect and isolate from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal
3. Wait at least 90 seconds.

REV: 01/2019

After the power switch is turned off, the navigation computer sub-assembly (w/ Navigation System (for Navigation Receiver Type)) records various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the power switch off, make sure to wait at least 60 seconds before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
When the auxiliary battery is replaced or the cable is disconnected from its negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal, the ISC learning value will be initialized and symptoms as a noise from the hybrid vehicle transaxle assembly may occur until ISC learning is performed. Therefore, perform ISC learning when the auxiliary battery is replaced or the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) terminal of the auxiliary battery

PARTS THAT MUST BE REPLACED FOLLOWING A DEPLOYMENT

When the SRS parts are deployed (including when only an airbag or pretensioner is deployed) due to a collision, be sure to replace all sensors in the damaged areas (anywhere in need of repair) and airbag sensor assembly [AIRBAG SENSOR,FRONT; AIRBAG SENSOR,FRT DOOR; AIRBAG SENSOR,SIDE; AIRBAG SENSOR,QTR PANEL; MODULE,AIRBAG CONTROL].

[Deployed airbag(s):]
• Horn button assembly [AIRBAG, STEERING WHEEL]
• Driver side knee airbag assembly [AIRBAG,KNEE BOLSTER]
• Front passenger airbag assembly [AIRBAG,INSTRUMENT PNL]
• Curtain shield airbag assembly [AIRBAG,ROOF]
• Front seat side airbag assembly [AIRBAG,FRONT SEAT BACK] If the side airbag was deployed, replace the front seat airbag assembly, separate type front seatback spring assembly, separate type front seatback cover and separate type front seatback pad with the necessary parts in accordance with the extent of the collision damage
• Front seat airbag sub-assemblies [AIRBAG,FRT SEAT CUSHION] If the cushion airbag was deployed, replace the front seat airbag sub-assembly, separate type front seat cushion spring assembly, separate type front seat cushion cover and separate type front seat cushion pad with the necessary parts in accordance with the extent of the collision damage
• Airbag sensor assembly [MODULE,AIRBAG CONTROL]
• When airbags have deployed as the result of a collision, be sure to replace all front airbag sensors in the damaged areas (anywhere in need of repair). [AIRBAG SENSOR,FRONT]
• When airbags have deployed as the result of a collision, be sure to replace all door side airbag sensors in the damaged areas (anywhere in need of repair). [AIRBAG SENSOR,FRT DOOR]
• When airbags have deployed as the result of a collision, be sure to replace all side airbag sensor assemblies in the damaged areas (anywhere in need of repair). [AIRBAG SENSOR,SIDE]
• When airbags have deployed as the result of a collision, be sure to replace all side airbag sensor (for Rear Side) assemblies in the damaged areas (anywhere in need of repair).[AIRBAG SENSOR,QTR PANEL]

PARTS THAT MUST BE INSPECTED AND REPLACED IF DAMAGED

When troubleshooting the SRS, always check for DTCs before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

• Horn button assembly [AIRBAG, STEERING WHEEL]
• Lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly [AIRBAG,KNEE BOLSTER]
• Instrument panel passenger airbag assembly [AIRBAG,INSTRUMENT PNL]
• Curtain shield airbag assemblies [AIRBAG,ROOF]
• Front seat airbag assemblies [AIRBAG,FRONT SEAT BACK]
• Front seat airbag sub-assemblies [AIRBAG,FRT SEAT CUSHION]
• Front seat outer belt assemblies
• Airbag sensor assembly [MODULE,AIRBAG CONTROL]
• Front airbag sensors [AIRBAG SENSOR,FRONT]
• Door side airbag sensors [AIRBAG SENSOR,FRT DOOR]
• Side airbag sensor assemblies [AIRBAG SENSOR,SIDE]
• Side No. 2 airbag sensor assemblies [AIRBAG SENSOR,QTR PANEL]
• Visually check for defects with the occupant detection ECU

Additionally inspect the:
• Steering wheel
• Upper instrument panel sub-assembly and instrument panel reinforcement assembly
• Pillar garnish and Headliner

• If any of the SRS parts are dropped, or if any cracks, dents or other defects are found, replace them with new parts
• It is necessary to replace any airbag sensor in undamaged areas that have registered a major collision, or which exhibits any of the following abnormalities: Cracks, dents or chips on the sensor housing. Cracks or other damage to the connector. Peeling of the label or damage to the serial number.
• Perform zero point calibration and sensitivity check of the occupant classification system
