DISABLE PROCEDURE AND TIME (Always Check Service Manual)

Before removing any of the SRS parts (including the disconnection of the connectors), always disconnect the SRS connector:

1. Turn the ignition switch OFF
2. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery
3. Wait at least 3 minutes

After the vehicle is completely repaired, confirm the SRS airbag system is OK.
• Turn the ignition switch ON, the SRS indicator should come on for about 6 seconds and then go off.

PARTS THAT MUST BE REPLACED FOLLOWING A DEPLOYMENT

When the front airbag(s) deployed after a collision, replace the following items:
• SRSCM [MODULE,AIRBAG CONTROL]
• Deployed airbag(s) [AIRBAG,STEERING WHEEL; AIRBAG,INSTRUMENT PNL; AIRBAG,KNEE BOLSTER]
• Seat belt pretensioner(s)
• Anchor pretensioner(s)
• Front impact sensor [AIRBAG SENSOR,FRONT]
• SRS wiring harnesses
• Replace the crash pad which that has been damaged after the PAB (Passenger Airbag) has been deployed.

When the side/curtain airbag(s) deployed after a collision, replace the following items:
• SRSCM [MODULE,AIRBAG CONTROL]
• Deployed airbag(s) [AIRBAG,ROOF; AIRBAG & SEAT BACK ASSY; AIRBAG,FRONT SEAT BACK]
• Side impact sensor(s) for the deployed side(s) [AIRBAG SENSOR,FRT DOOR; AIRBAG SENSOR,SIDE]
• SRS wiring harnesses
• Front seat belt pretensioner (s)
• Anchor pretensioner(s)

The side airbag cannot be disassembled from the seat back assembly, so replace the seat back assembly when replacing the side airbag

PARTS THAT MUST BE INSPECTED AND REPLACED IF DAMAGED

“During any SRS components inspection,a Pre/post Scan is required using the Hyundai scan tool for check/clean DTCs (diagnostic trouble codes) errors.”

• Steering wheel
• When the front airbag(s) deployed after a collision, Inspect the clock spring for heat damage. If any damage found, replace the clock spring.
• After the vehicle is completely repaired, confirm the SRS airbag system is OK
