DISABLE PROCEDURE AND TIME (Always Check Service Manual)

The pyrotechnic components may be check only when they are installed and with a Volkswagen approved vehicle
diagnosis, testing and information system

When working on pyrotechnic components and on the Air-
bag control module:
1) The battery ground cable must be disconnected when the ignition is switched on.
2) Cover the negative pole.
3) Wait for 10 seconds after disconnecting the battery

PARTS THAT MUST BE REPLACED FOLLOWING A DEPLOYMENT

After an accident with airbag deployment, the following components must be replaced:

• All deployed/ triggered airbag units [AIRBAG,STEERING WHEEL; AIRBAG,INSTRUMENT PNL; AIRBAG,FRONT SEAT; AIRBAG,REAR SEAT; AIRBAG,ROOF]
• Support and bracket for the front passenger airbag unit with a deployed front passenger airbag
• Return ring with slip ring, if driver side airbag deployed [CLOCK SPRING/LVR,STRG ]
• All seat belts with deployed seat belt tensioners
• If the seat rails and/or seat pan is replaced after an accident due to deformations resulting from a crash, the passive occupant detection system must be replaced using the passenger occupant detection system pressure sensor -G452• .

PARTS THAT MUST BE INSPECTED AND REPLACED IF DAMAGED

• If needed (visual inspection), the following must also be replaced: all faulty components.
• After an accident, child seat anchors must be inspected for damage and deformation
• Seat belt system
• Each time passenger airbag and/or belt pretensioner on passenger side is deployed, Seat Occupied Recognition Control Module -J706• basic setting must be performed.
