DISABLE PROCEDURE AND TIME (Always Check Service Manual)
WARNING:To avoid rendering the SRS inoperative, which could increase the risk of personal injury or death in the event of a collision which would result in air bag inflation, all maintenance should be performed by an authorized NISSAN/INFINITI dealer.
1. Switch the Ignition OFF
2. Disconnect the battery negative terminal
3. Wait at least 3 minutes before performing any service

PARTS THAT MUST BE REPLACED FOLLOWING A DEPLOYMENT
For Frontal Collision:• If the driver air bag has deployed: REPLACE Install with new fasteners. [AIRBAG,STEERING WHEEL]
• If the front passenger air bag (if equipped) has deployed: REPLACE Install with new fasteners [AIRBAG,INSTRUMENT PNL]
• If any of the front air bags or seat belt pre-tensioners• have been activated: REPLACE the crash zone sensor and bracket with new fasteners [AIRBAG SENSOR,FRONT]
• Seat belt pre-tensioner assemblies (All applicable locations: buckle, retractor, lap outer) Install with new fasteners, if deployed • Confirm seat belt pre-tensioner activation using CONSULT only
• If any of the SRS components have been activated: REPLACE the diagnosis sensor unit. [MODULE,AIRBAG CONTROL]
• If the driver front air bag has deployed: REPLACE the spiral cable [CLOCK SPRING]
• Always replace instrument panel pad following front passenger air bag deployment
• If the passenger front air bag has deployed: REPLACE the instrument panel assembly. (integrated type)
For Side and Rollover Collision:
• If the side curtain air bag LH has deployed: REPLACE the side curtain air bag module LH. Install with new fasteners. [AIRBAG,ROOF]
• If the side curtain air bag RH has deployed: REPLACE the side curtain air bag module RH. Install with new fasteners. [AIRBAG,ROOF]
• If the front side air bag LH has deployed: REPLACE front seatback assembly LH [AIRBAG & SEAT BACK ASSY]
• If the front side air bag RH has deployed: REPLACE front seatback assembly RH [AIRBAG & SEAT BACK ASSY]
• If any of the SRS components have deployed: REPLACE the side air bag (satellite) sensor on the collision side with new fasteners [AIRBAG SENSOR,FRT DOOR; AIRBAG SENSOR,SIDE; AIRBAG SENSOR,INTERIOR (if equipped)]
• If any of the SRS components have deployed: REPLACE the diagnosis sensor unit with new fasteners [MODULE,AIRBAG CONTROL]
• Seat belt pre-tensioner assemblies (All applicable locations: buckle, retractor, lap outer) Install with new fasteners, if deployed • Confirm seat belt pre-tensioner activation using CONSULT only
NISSAN/INFINITI recommends that all seat belt assemblies in use during a collision be replaced unless the collision was minor and the belts show no damage and continue to operate properly.
PARTS THAT MUST BE INSPECTED AND REPLACED IF DAMAGED
Replace any SRS components and the related parts showing visible signs of damage (dents, cracks, deformation).For Frontal Collision:
• Non-Deployed airbags
• Steering wheel
• Wiring harness, connectors and terminals
• Occupant Classification System
• Replace any seat belt assembly (including anchor bolts) if: The seat belt attaching point was damaged in an accident
• Seats and seat mounting points
• Instrument panel assembly
• Harness and connectors
• Inspect all seat belt assemblies including retractors and attaching hardware after any collision.
• Replace any seat belt assembly (including anchor bolts) if: The seat belt attaching point was damaged in an accident
• NISSAN/INFINITI recommends that all seat belt assemblies in use during a collision be replaced unless the collision was minor and the belts show no damage and continue to operate properly. Failure to do so could result in serious personal injury in an accident. Seat belt assemblies not in use during a collision should also be replaced if either damage or improper operation is noted.
• Replace any SRS components showing visible signs of damage (dents, cracks and deformation, etc.).
For Side and Rollover Collision:
• Non-Deployed airbags
• Trim/Headliner
• Center inner pillar on the collision side for damage
• Seats and seat mounting points
NISSAN recommends that all seat belt assemblies in use during a collision be replaced unless the collision was minor and the belts show no damage and continue to operate properly. Failure to do so could result in serious personal injury in an accident. Seat belt assemblies not in use during a collision should also be replaced if either damage or improper operation is noted.
Replace any seat belt assembly (including anchor bolts) if:
• The seat belt was in use at the time of a collision (except for minor collisions and the belts, retractors and buckles show no damage and continue to operate properly).
• The seat belt was damaged in an accident (i.e. torn webbing, bent retractor or guide).
• The seat belt attaching point was damaged in an accident. Inspect the seat belt attaching area for damage or distortion and repair as necessary before installing a new seat belt assembly.
• Anchor bolts are deformed or worn out.
