OEM Emergency Response Guides: Mercedes-Benz - UPDATE

Are you looking for OEM emergency response guides (ERGs)? The Repairability Technical Support (RTS) team has located these guides and either houses them on the RTS website, provides links to webpages that house them, or provides articles with instructions on how to locate them.

These guides provide information about the vehicle that is useful to emergency response personnel. You may find ERGs available for many types of vehicles, but most OEMs focus on how to handle a high-voltage (HV) vehicle that has been involved in a collision.

For Mercedes-Benz and SMART, these guides can be accessed for free and do not require a subscription.

Here are step-by-step instructions on how to find ERGs:

  1. Go to rk.mb-qr.com
    • option 1: Scan QR code (requires device with camera)
      1. Click Scan QR Code (right side of Find Rescue Sheets area)
      2. Locate QR code on vehicle (per Mercedes-Benz "on the B-pillar or fuel tank cap")
      3. Scan QR code
      4. ERG loads
    • option 2: Manually select vehicle
      1. Select Car or Van
      2. Select brand emblem
      3. Select model using Class, Bodywork, Model Number, Drive or Engine to filter the search
      4. Click Show (#) Rescue Sheets
      5. Select correct ERG

Mercedes-Benz offers a Progressive Web App (PWA) which enables users to access ERGs offline. Follow instructions on the site to download and install the application.

It’s important to remember that the ERGs do not provide all the necessary information to repair HV vehicles. The OEM procedure and precautions always need to be followed to ensure the safety of the technician, as well as a complete, safe, and quality repair.
