Nissan Position Statement - Pre- and Post-Repair System Scanning

As the industry continues to ask, are pre- and post-repair scans necessary, Nissan provides their answer.

Per the June 20, 2016 position statement: “It is the stance of Nissan North America, that all of our vehicles be scanned following a collision repair to help ensure the vehicles’ systems are communicating properly with no trouble codes outstanding.”

According to the position statement, the increased level of technology and electrical components in Nissan vehicles, the necessity of pre- and post-repair system scanning will help a repair facility have a more comprehensive understanding on how the vehicle systems are communicating.
