Per I-CAR curriculum: "Outer door panel replacement may require combining welding and adhesive bonding. This should not be confused with the process of weld bonding, which uses adhesive and spot welds in the same joint. Adhesives may be used along the outside flanges, while welds are used in the pinchweld of the window opening or a sectioning joint."
