Body Construction And Material Repair Guidelines: Maserati

What is the MPa of the front lower rail? What is the outer uniside made of: steel, aluminum, or composite? Can heat be used to straighten or is it cold straightening only? What are the repair limitations? These are just some of the questions that the RTS team fields on a daily basis.

As we know, today's vehicles can be constructed from a wide variety of materials. Knowing if the OEM provides information on body construction materials and repair guidelines is a crucial step in providing a complete, safe, and quality repair. Let’s see what Maserati has to say.

Maserati has documents found in vehicle-specific Workshop manuals under 9 Bodywork ➤ 9.AA Introduction. To open a document listed below, you must click the wrench icon to the right.

  • Structural/Non-Structural Parts contains color illustrations of the vehicle structure.
  • Composition Of Body Alloys shows what parts are constructed of aluminum and what parts are steel. Maserati does not specify MPa.
  • Rule For The Choice Of Repair Or Replacement. This document has a warning that says:
    • "if the deviation of +- 5mm has an impact on a single point of the body, then it is proceed with the repair."
    • "if the deviation of +- 5mm has an impact on a chain of starting points, then it is not possible to proceed with the repair."

Make sure to review the Workshop manual from Maserati as part of a complete, safe, and quality repair.
